DLC is still locked to the games region, So American dlc will only work with US version. I tried to see if dlc worked on a game from another region with the free dlc from Shadow of Mordor the dlc will not install with out the digital or disc for that region.

That's weird because the DLC for Revelations I had installed was the US but I've only played the UK disc and it was all there! Thought maybe it was just an Ubisoft thing?

This isn't a blanket rule
Depends who the publisher is and what platform you are on,
UBisoft have their own uplay activation for ULC like this, so i expect it to be region free as it probably will be ULC and not DLC

I think you might be right. I signed in with my australian ubisoft account and no issues. Said dlc would be emailed launch day.

Also to note, Xbox DLC is not region locked.
