Inside those boxes, the tin is not sealed or taped or shrink-wrapped in any way. I spent a while today exploring the feasibility of getting them sealed at the warehouse instead of the factory, but it's not going to happen. As far as the goodies themselves, the data pad, journal, and water bottle are in poly bags. The postcards are shrink wrapped. The posters are in a tube. The marker is packaged in a neat little printed cardboard box, but it's closed with tabs and also has no tape or shrinkwrap. This is clearly a miss on our part, but I'd like to ask you to believe me when I tell you it is because we're not intelligent, and not because we're trying to cut corners. The decision to ship the games separately was made for logistical reasons, separately and after the items and tins were produced. We worried about what you would get, and we worried about how we would get it to you, but we didn't spend enough time worrying about how it would finally be presented to you when it got there, I guess. I will personally dedicate myself to not letting this happen on another CE we produce. I understand that sealed is not only better, but really so much better as to be the only way to go, but I hope a few of you will be willing to check out the pieces in person since you don't have to break a seal to do it.... I was able to get a 360 game case in the space where the data pad sits inside the tin (actually, the best fit was inside the cover of the data pad because of the angle at which the cover sits normally). There is a space on the left where the art book, journal, and postcards are packed that would work fine, but then you'd have to find new homes for them.... There is not a clearly demarcated place specifically for the game. But if you're just trying to keep your things together, the data pad location is probably the most covenient anyway. It's right at the top of the tin when you open it, and is sitting in a cardboard insert that holds it face up and centered and primary. |

Re: Dead Space III Dev Team Edition
Thanks for info! I just hope you all used enough padding around the tins. Hopefully it's padded around all 6 sides, and hopefully it's all packed snugly in the cardboard box. Not to knock you personally, but I've bought tons of stuff from Treehouse and my only real complaint with your company is the inconsistency in the way that stuff is packed. I do believe that you all are getting better with the way you all pack stuff, but I've had more than a handful of items arrive damaged. The latest were my Mass Effect Homeworlds books that arrived with dinged up corners; and can't forget the Kingdoms of Amalur mess. No padding was used at all for the KoA Signature Edition, and the fragile boxes were crammed together in a tight shipping box. The big statue box crushed the smaller box that the game was packed in, and the statue box itself would also get damaged.

Re: Dead Space III Dev Team Edition
I'm going to display the items properly when I receive it, so I don't mind that much the non sealed thing, but it should definitely be standard issue.
My Homeworlds CE arrived with dents as well, which they clearly didn't happen during transit. Speaking of Mass Effect Graphic Novels, do you know if you'll release a CE of the upcoming Mass Effect Library Edition Volume 1 HC, like you did with The Art of Mass Effect Universe? Sorry for the off topic question! |

Re: Dead Space III Dev Team Edition
I actually really LIKE that it is unsealed, because now i can check out all amazing items without lessening the value!

Re: Dead Space III Dev Team Edition
Thanks ryan
I'm a bit disappointed they aren't sealed though because even though I'm not a sealed collector, when I buy something like this at this price I want to break a seal. I like the feeling that I'm opening something that's completely untouched. When CE's are unsealed, you just don't get that feeling But again that's my thoughts. Still nice to know that you'll be careful with how you ship them as I would be crushed if the tin was damaged at all, let alone the contents
