That is completely incorrect. Arthas sold out VERY quickly considering that a massive amount (over half) had sold before it was even RELEASED (preorders). Once the images came out, people when nuts on the pre-orders. It was so popular that most suppliers had VERY limited stock allocated to them and once they sold out, Sideshow did not supply anymore. The reason why it was shown as low stock for a while is that Sideshow kept selling out, then getting new pieces to complete the 3000 production run until they completed the run. They almost never produce the entire amount of pieces beforehand (in this case 3000). It is still the best Arthas statue to date and is in high demand in the second hand market. There is a reason its value has appreciated over 100% in a matter of a couple of years.

The Sideshow Arkham Batman pose is based on an EXACT 3D printed model of in-game anatomy. I see nothing wrong with the pose. Prime 1 always get it right (check out their Transformers line, PERFECT proportions and posing). To me the pose is epic and will be the best Batman statue for many years.

I also own it and it isn't incorrect at all, collectors at statue forum and sideshow freaks will confirm this. That Batman statue is 1/3 scale by Prime1 not Sideshow. I was referring to Sideshows 1/4.

I also own the statue (was one of the first who preordered). A lot of people fail to understand that Sideshow release statues in BATCHES, hence low stock does not relate to the 3000 entire production run, but the conversions on the waitlist once new stock is ready.

I also clearly mentioned it was a Prime 1 statue:

If people have issues with the Prime 1 Batman pose, then they really need their eyes checked

In person, I can only imagine how epic is must look.

If you are talking about the Premium Format Sideshow statue, then I agree, it looks crap... and why I never bought it.

I don't fail to understand, it was available for order long after release at Sideshow which I don't deem a quick sellout and certainly doesn't sell for what you suggested. Alot of people initially didn't like the paint on Arthas or the fault with the cape and the fact it's 1/5 scale. Diablo also took a long time to sell, even the nightmare edition with an ES of 200. Anyway back to batman.

Except you do! You said it not 2 posts ago:

The production run was 3000, it sold out VERY quickly as most sold were preorders and the delayed production batches are the reason why it appeared he was on low quantity for a long time.

The paint and cape issues were complained about by a tiny, tiny minority. Certainly not on the level you are suggesting. Why else would it appreciate more than 100% in value?

Diablo took a long time to sell because its sculpt is nowhere near as epic as Arthas (or detailed). Arthas is almost double the weight due to all the detail and extra polystone, not to mention it is longer and wider than Diablo. The two are not comparable (other than height). Arthas is a grail, Diablo is not.

That said, Batman by Prime 1 is almost a guaranteed grail this point in time. Even the exclusive batarang hand is not mandatory as the grapple gun or closed fists look better IMO.

Were you around before Arthas? Being able to order a year after release is not a quick sellout. The price you've suggested in U.S. Dollars no less, is laughable. Lets take it to the statue thread if you wish to discuss further?

How do you figure half sold before release when the edition size wasn't announced until months after it went up for preorder?

It definitely is when there are 3000 of them. How is it laughable when I just linked you a used one that went for 870USD?

I will PM you.

Well NECA is not making a statue... so it is not comparable IMO. But that is just how i see it, I do not compare action figures and statues.

But to be honest I dislike the pose of the DC statue... I wish it was the pose of the Prime 1 statue or the pose of the LE statue. If the Prime 1 statue was smaller and lower priced I might consider getting it, but I just cannot bring myself to spend a grand on statue.

Not true at all. The attention to detail is much higher on NECA as compared to the statue you linked. The level of accuracy of NECA would also be higher. All important factors when deciding on a statue vs figure. Also the NECA figure would be a similar price. This is coming from someone who collects both statues and figures. The beauty of the NECA figures is you get superior detail and the ability to pose it anyway you want.

The only thing we have to go by is Prime 1's previous statues and the typical Japanese attention to detail and quality far outweighs anything that Sideshow has produced in my personal opinion. I believe the Batman is incredibly good value for money even considering I am paying an extra $200 USD to get it to Australia.

I have bought three Sideshow pieces designed in America and made in China and all three had severe design and QA issues. That's a 100% defective rate and meant I returned them all (except one, Arthas, which I got a massive discount for). That is part of the reason why I am so happy the Prime 1 is not an American Sideshow made piece but a Japanese one.

Please re-read my post. I said to me it is not comparable as one is a statue and one is an action figure. Sorry you disagree with my opinion but you cannot say "Not true at all." when it is an opinion like this one, it just does not make sense in this case. It seems you are doing what people tend to do and adding words to my post. I never said that they are not comparable in detail, all I said was one is a statue and one is a action figure... I do no personally categorize them nor compare them as the same.

Please in the future take my post at face value and do not add unsaid things to it... it is very frustrating.

I am happy for you that you think you are getting a really great value for the Prime 1 statue. I have no opinion on that one way or the other as I do not know much about $1,000 retail statues. But if you are happy with it then there is not need to try and justify it to anyone else (and in essence yourself)... if you are happy then that is awesome.

I don't agree that they are not comparable. Just because you do, does not make you right or me wrong. Forums are for opinions, that's what makes them interesting
