Agreed. I'd say other than "Falling" and "Songbird", none of the artwork really jumps out at me.

The one you posted would easily be the best imo.

Falling really jumps out at me as well. The others are nice too but hopefully I can get falling if not sold out already

The Artists Proofs are the final prints that have been signed off on by everybody involved and is meant for the artists (or studio's) own archive.

It took 6 iterations on color, contrast etc. before the final images were completely right. Please take into account that almost no game studio or digital artist has experience in creating full RGB spectrum printed fine art prints (instead of CMYK), which means that all the color and lightness information needs to tested and iterated upon to get in perfect print what the art team is seeing on their screen in their studio.

Also, these screenshots are specially created renders in the engine that are tens of thousands of pixels wide.

Finally, with regards to our selection of the imagery. That is always done in conjuction with the studio and time and budget etc. is always a factor.

We did decide on doing more actual in-game pictures of BioShock Infinite because these represent the final product the most accurately. It's nice to juxtapoze that with concept art for a complete whole but in this case most of the concept art images did not have a high enough resolution for our standards to make a decent sized print.

Also we make an effort to make game art & game artists a bigger part of the contemporary art world as a whole because we feel this is significant and these studios and artists are so influential in shaping our time and culture. We therefore sometimes select images like Ice Cream Shop ( a personal favorite) that raises a lot of questions about the scene that you are looking at, even if you don't know the game. We all know those games of course but we also try to find entry points for complete novices in the visual language of games to get a discussion going. We want to please the fans (I am one myself) and try to go a bit offbeat as well.

Sorry for the artyfarty speak

The popularity of Infinite may be a big boost towards legitimizing games and game development as genuine art, and I for one applaud the project. I'm also buying as many of these as will fit on my wall

Exactly my point ingmar. I'm all about art and prints, but not what is from my understanding essentially an in-game screenshot blown up.

Wonder how boy of silence turns out. Can't imagine they'll have much flexibility if they're using screens because from what I remember they only appear at one little part in the entire game.

Not sure if it's the final version. Nothing special.

Am I the only one who considers it strange that there isn't any proper concept art that reflects the final look of the game?

I mean these three are quite nice, but the final game doesn't look like that.

And regarding that last pic I posted in the first post.

..."Interesting closing image. I used that exact same image to request an image that would "communicate the splendor of Columbia" to Irrational

...they didn't have time to create a high-res version (crunch time and all) but is we ever do a follow-up later with one or two prints something like that would definitely be part of it.

Isn't Bioshock always like that though?

The Murder of Crows bottle looked completely different in the game from the concept art
