I pre ordered this off Amazon Japan fthrough a friend to get the region free version as i dont believe the others are region free.

But i plan on canceling as i dont wanna sink 400+ into another PS3.

oh ok, well he told me there was a difference between the jpnese version and the other versions in different parts of Asia.

There is no restriction on the which game canbe played and all ps3 have the option to change language. Also you won't have a problem to create an online account either.

The only problem maybe for movie play back, most blu-rays are region free but I think most of Asia is a different region compared to japan with dvd and blurays. you will have to confirm that though.

I have the cloud black edition ps3 from Japan and it plays all my blu rays. Japan and NA have the same region for blu rays for whatever reason, the issue is with european blu rays

I agree with Leonix7791, I too prefer the original FFXIII Lightning Edition, the box artwork was just unbelievable absolutely stunning best artwork I've seen on a console box!

Although this one is pretty cool as well as least it won't discolour.
