I usually find that the hunt for new steelbooks is enough to overcome my doubts about collecting

How actively do you search for new steels? Often times a good deal on a steel or a rare find will keep my interest up

Just my thoughts of course and you're the second steel collector in as many days to tell me they've lost the desire to collect

Sad to hear you're starting to lose interest, Strizay.

I think it's affecting a lot of people right now, what with more and more steelbooks and CEs being pumped out every month (as opposed to just for the bigger game/movie releases), so it kinda takes away from that "special"-ness.

I've not lost my love of collecting (touch wood), but I am getting a little bit exhausted by all of the CEs and steelbooks that end up bundled together in such a short space of time (since I simply can't afford to get all the ones I want)

The companies need to take a step back, and see that they're making CEs/steelbooks and other "collectible" packaging, well... less collectible, by doing it for everything.

I think I'll stop my rant now xx

Hey I think we should put a petition / statements of our views together and let the people making these ce's know there going to far

dont get too defeated there is more to collecting than just buying what you are after, there is the social side i.e this website, i find even if i cant afford or obtain something, someone here usually does and i can enjoy it that way, keep the faith and dont forget if you surround yourself by to much of anything it can become overbearing no matter how much you enjoy it.

so just take a small break then see how you feel

yeah, that's really good advice. I think it was because I tried to get too much too fast. There was no real search involved. I found an item I wanted and I either got it or I lost interest in it. You all are right though, there are way to many limited, special and ce's out right now. Not all of them are all that special anyway. we should petition them, you're right though, they wouldn't care. I look at all my items and think what a mess of useless toys I've purchased.

hey fundamentally it is all useless junk in the cold light of day, but if you something that can give you a little enjoyment in life grab it with both hands
