Had not seen that, I think I had seen the Hot Toys one in the past and I figured you mean that. The one you linked seems to be the old school bat signal.

Yeah looks pretty sweet. It's already sold out here, just wondering if anyone knew anything else about it.

I do like the 1/3 scale statue but that price tag is insane. My first car cost less!

So back on track, anyone seen the Limited edition bat signal by wicked replicas?
The way I see it. Instead of getting nine $100 statues, why not get one massive one that is many times more epic and scarce. That 1/3 Batman is a statue that will last a lifetime, a cheap car won't I see it as a long term investment in both collecting pleasure and value (value increases with time). A first beater car not only depreciates but experiences wear and tear, so comparing both in terms of value does make not sense at all. Once it sells out, thousands people who initially decided it was too expensive will be hunting one on the second hand market... guaranteed.

Anyway, each to their own. No more statues for me until the 1/3 arrives... Delayed gratification I guess.

I seriously beg to differ.

List price of a 1970 chevelle SS454 was around 7,200 image follows:

now, that very car sells for 1000% of original list price. Just because a car is cheap doesn't mean that it will depreciate in value. Same goes for expensive cars. You can buy a $2.2million McLaren F1, and then 3 years later, even after driving it, sell it for 5 million.

Not only that, but there are plenty of collectibles/statues that never gain value.

My comments were clearly made in relation to the previous posts:

Someone's first beater car is not a McLaren or limited edition Chevy.

At least read a thread properly and realise the context of someone's post before making such silly, unrelated and off-topic posts.
You waste my time for having to reply, and everyone else's time for taking the thread OT.

@dwade23 hey bud. I reckon just drop it. The batman statue looks awesome but costs alot.

Regardless of if it goes up or down in value, if you enjoy looking at it, thats all that really matters right?

Telling people that their opinion is right or wrong wont change their opinion, and might even just upset them. Its not like their opinion will change wether you get the statue or not right?

When you do get it, chuck up some pics as it looks insane.

That 70 chevelle WAS someones first car. It WAS someone's first BEATER car. As you said. It's all about context correct? As far as limited edition? Are you insane? It had a production run of around 660,000. If that's "limited" then I'd hate to see what you consider a normal production run.

And you fail to realize that someone beater can can become rare and worth something. Just because a $100 statue is in YOUR eyes not worth it, it doesn't mean that it CAN'T be worth more down the line.

My post was in relation to people stating that a 1/3, 34 inch limited edition Prime 1 statue at $899 is over-priced. This is extremely far from the truth, given that the Prime 1 Transformers line of statues (while smaller and more detailed) were over $2000 (or just under). In comparison, the Batman is very good value for money (as opposed to too expensive).

Mind providing us all a link for where the car person bought the specific Chevy you linked above for under $1000 as their first BEATER car?
Point is, if someone bought a BEATER car, they would not be taking care of it and it would be in sub-standard condition and poorly maintained. The car you linked, is not a BEATER car, its a showroom car, hence why its in a showroom.

My comment was directed towards people comparing a car with little value (and depreciating value) against a limited edition 1/3 scale Prime 1 statue. Your comment is discussing car value claims which has nothing to do with this thread.
