I remember seeing a Mass Effect Illium 1/300 damaged by UV-lighting. As a result there was a nice yellow border where the mat didn't cover.

Awesome! I hope to have my Bayonetta print framed one day too. I already have a good idea of what I want it too look like too. I want an ornate, black frame with glossy lacquer finish. I don't want the frame to be too thick either. I want a relatively slim profile for the frame and for the overall look of the entire package. I want one or possible two mats; but since I want the overall picture and frame to be as compact as possible, I want the mats to be as small as possible. Maybe 3/4 of an inch total max length of the mats (with one mat being bigger than the other.)

Here are some examples of the kind of frame that I'd consider using:

Like the one with the red arrow pointing at it:

Or this one turned on its side of course:

This one is nice too:

I'm not sure if the print would actually look good in that type of set-up, but in my mind it looks nice, lol. What do you all think?

Awesome framing, those are really good prices. Maybe its the 'london' effect but ive been quoted prices near 1.5 times what you got for my artwork.

Does every acrylic sheet have protection from UV?

Nope

Acrylic is a heavily used plastic in certain fields/area and there are a ton of different types available.

I doubt any framer offers solely UV-protective acrylic just because of cost

So the UV protection is an addon to the acrylic when they make it?

Yes it is done within the manufacturing process

I have fiddled a little with some DIY projects and acrylic is easy to work with but produces a crystal clear view

Here are some examples of various acrylics:

Just make sure to click on acrylic under the materials tab to the left and it'll show a half a dozen or so various acrylics you can buy from them. UV-resistant is one

May eventually make my own protective cases
