Right now I'm actually mailing the AC:BLACK FLAG US pre-order posters overseas, and the best way I worked out (both protection and price) is a mailing tube.

One that is not too small, and that it's sturdy enough, should do the trick.
It also isn't that expensive because at least here in the U.S. the measurements for tubes allowed are more than boxes.

It's going to be the European pre-order bonus like our gamestop poster was

In the picture you can see the bardcode used for pre-orders and the little white square of paper covering up the code for the watch bonus

This has only been announced for Australia so far but it will certainly be released as a pre-order bonus for mainland Europe as well considering the languages on the back

Still a cool item nonetheless
