Like I said I don't have a best or top ten as I have no information on every one that has been created thus far I just wanted to appreciate the Ideas that have gone into creating CE but the Borderlands 2 CE was good for the coin and what you got in it. No offence but if that is what you got from what I said them so be it.

I would not nominate ni no kuni, because the clusterfuck namco made of it, plus our Europeans got shafted with inferior version.

Final Fantasy 13 Deluxe Edition

Special Sountrack (10 tracks)
Illustration Book
Poster
Premium HDMI Cable
Final Fantasy XIII (Chinese Version)
DUALSHOCK?3 wireless controller - Lightning Edition
PlayStation?Network card for Avatar download

$115

The final packaging is absolutely beautiful for this CE, although it does not come sealed and it is a bit flimsy =( The content is amazing too and can easily make up for the price, as the DS3 controller and game already makes up for it already with much more. The HDMI cable is a bit random, but always useful haha. This is one CE I really regret selling!

Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Ultimate Box

Games:
Final Fantasy (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy II (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy III (PSP, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy IV (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy V (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VI (PS1, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy VII International (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy VIII (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy IX (PS1, 4 discs)
Final Fantasy X (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XI Vana Del Collection 2 (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XII (PS2, 1 disc)
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 1 disc)

Bonus Material:
Special anniversary video disc
Crystal ArtWorks -- an anniversary visual art collection
A two disc anniversary music selection CD
Final Fantasy XIV Mogu Mogu Earring item code
Mini replica of Amano FF 25th Anniversary visual and stand

$450

Elegant, simple and clean. Although way too expensive for most people, and I would never buy it myself, it is mind bogglingly beautiful.

Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Ultimate Box

All three games in the Trilogy
Lightning Special Label Stand
Special Soundtrack
Lightning Artworks
Lightning Play Arts Figure W 150mm?D 100mm?H 260mm (W 6″ x D 4″ x H 10″)

$265

It's HUGE! Although I was not a huge fan of the trilogy, this edition seems like the perfect way to conclude the series. Like the other Final Fantasy expensive editions, it has an elegant design, but got to love how big it is!

Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Dark Edition

The Witcher 2 Xbox 360 game
The Witcher Medallion, World Map, Quest Handbook
Making of DVD, Official Soundtrack, 3 Witcher Stickers
Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Art Book
Dark Edition Box

$100

The lenticular box makes this packaging very unique. Plenty of high quality content, especially the artbook, to make this edition worth the reasonable price!

Starcraft 2 Wings Of Liberty

Wings of Liberty exclusive behind-the-scenes DVD.
Collector’s Edition soundtrack.
StarCraft comic issue #0.
The Art of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, a 176-page art book.
Jim Raynor dog tag USB drive, a 2gig drive preloaded with the original StarCraft and the Brood War expansion set.
Exclusive in-game World of Warcraft pet, Thor.
Exclusive Battle.net downloadable content.

$100

Blizzard sure knows how to make their collectors edition heavy duty! This is my favourite game last generation, and most likely this one too =)

Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception Explorer's Edition

Replica of Nathan Drake’s belt buckle which is “wearable”
Full-size replica of Drake’s necklace strap that holds Sir Francis Drake’s ring
Nathan Drake statue (not full-size)
Special Edition journal-styled game box case with digital items
6 Additional Digital Items

100gbp

There is a lot of content in this edition, but only one thing is exclusive to this edition...and that one thing is what makes this edition so amazing. The treasure box is very high quality and what every Uncharted fan needed in their collection.

if it came down between Uncharted 2 - Fortunate Hunter Edition and Uncharted 3 - Explorer edition which one would you think belongs on the 10 best list?

Personally, I'd lean toward the Fortune hunter edition. It's much more rare, the packaging is much better, and the included item is fantastic. I've never seen the Explorer Edition in person but the outer box looks like cheap junky cardboard plastered with advertising logos.

-----------

I need more suggestions! A lot of these suggests make me say "yeah that was a pretty good CE" but only a small handful of them make me say "YES, that definitely belongs on the list"

Maybe some thoughts to help you out...

What were the best Wii CEs?

What were the best PC CEs?

What were the best Japanese CEs?

What was the best European CEs?

What were the best SteelBooks?

Any good suggestions with a thoughtful explanation will of course get a thumbs up from me

The Explorer edition is actually pretty neat. Its actually a wooden box so when mine arrives I will take some pics.

On the other hand; best PC CE is probably the Star Wars the old republic. It was really great ce, even the game maybe killed it little bit. As fan of star wars I'd really love to have that one. For Wii CE I find the best one Epic Mickey CE NTSC or Epic Mickey 2 Power of two german edition. Not really into japanese CEs games so dont know. They are not that common in czech republic. Best european CE is probably the Risen 2 keg edition for me. Could be counted as PC as well. After this one, I'd say Assassins Creed Brotherhood Codex edition and Darksiders II uk/ french collectors edition. That CE is kinda beatiful and I'd really love to have it.
When it comes to steelbooks I cant really tell so I will say my personal favourites: Uncharted 3 Belgian stickerbook, Uncharted 3 Italian steelbook, Darksiders II shiny steelbook and probably diablo III steelbook

the treasure box itself sounds really nice but the fact that none of the other included items are exclusive, and everything (including the treasure box) is wrapped up in cheap packaging IMO makes it more of a "pretty good" CE but not a "best of the best" CE.

Yeah, thats true.
Also, if you let me, I will create category for "best & most creative pre-order bonus"

I vote for this:

Its a licenseplate / numberplate or however it is called for pre-ordering Gran Turismo 6 at xzone.cz

It says "second vechile" or something like that and you can actually use it so thats cool I think. Actually, if you pre-ordered it, you got two pieces

And the second thing I think I would say playman.cz bear tooth (ceramic) for assassins creed III pc preorder

Is the Fortune Hunter edition a real CE though? Since you could not buy it? I rather put it in a press/promo kit category of sorts.
