Missed the ~$60 auction that ended recently due to stupidity on my part. Was already in contact with the seller though (who is an awesome guy and somewhat in the industry btw) and he went the extra mile to reach out to a colleague of his who also got one in the same manner. Anyway, I paid nearly twice the ebay auction for his colleague's copy as I had some extra $ and he jumped through a lot of hoops to get me it (and we skipped ebay at which point I was sure someone else would snatch it up again though he was going to list it for the relative price).

And yes you're right. I would have never paid that much had I known it was getting an almost identical version released in the CE that I was already paying for, but a deal is a deal and I'm glad to at least know I helped out a fellow collector financially and also have a great contact or two out of it.

I'm still hoping that perhaps there'll be some distinguishable mark inside the CE one or the copyright on the back of the dev one is different. It clearly won't be worth a TON to the average collector, but I'll be happy knowing it was originally 1 of only 400! Also, I can get it signed I guess at a later date and feel even better about that!

For the Collector's Edition I was honestly expecting the Play Arts Kai figure that was shown at this year's San Diego Comic Con. This is not what I was expecting.

As it is, I don't understand the inclusion of the necklace. It was released as a bonus to the Tomb Raider Limited Edition Strategy Guide (as observed by Isauretjuh), which is still available on Amazon U.S.

I most likely would have enjoyed the statue more if the flare was lit. Without a flame it looks strange.

Ah, good thanks, heh, I remember you were kind enough to tell me before but I couldn't remember for the life of me and all their FAQ said when I inspected it last night is that preordering lets you "order & pay before a game is released", wich is about as clear as mud.

2 days ago i pre order this in SQ US shop, confirmed by sms.. now when i enter to my account > my orders, is empty :s.. 2 days ago the order was there

Similar thing happened to me. I preordered several days ago, but it does not show in my account. Just to be safe I ordered another when I preordered the Deus Ex collector's edition. That order shows up just fine. I'm going to email Square Enix to make sure I only get one copy.
