That is strange... although playing cards/water-bottles and items like that do not make much sense either really. It is all advertising.

True but pirates would have had water bottles and playing cards even if they wouldn't have been stylized and modern like that

The fact that the football was invented something like 150 years after the events of ACIV doesn't help

Oh yes... when I think of pirates the first thing i think of is their water bottles and playing cards...

They should make old fashioned weathered glass rum bottles (like beach glass) and old fashioned wooden dice with a leather pouch to hold them in.

Obviously the bottle would have the AC BF logo on it and so would the leather dice pouch (maybe even a logo on one side of the die).

Yep sounds good to me but hard to mass produce for a convention crowd

I was arguing the same thing for the water bottle that's included in the Dead Space 3 Dev Edition

It's plastic and just looks out of place imo

Should be a sealable metal canteen so it'd be safe to have in no pressure environments
