Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Do any of you know what the "Assassin’s Creed? IV Black Flag™ pre-order (Bonus: Treasure map and exclusive access to The Watch!)" is?

I know The Watch is a preorder bonus app thingy but I got a tracking number there for UPS and until this point I didn't know UbiShop was giving a map as a bonus, so anybody know what one it is?
Also I find it strange that they'd spend what must be a small fortune sending 0.1KG parcels by 48-hour UPS to everybody that's preordered.


On top of that, it also talks about taking payment as a deposit and I vaguely remembering that The Watch was listed in my checkout process as being ?8 which I hope is the correct amount. (Although I might have liked a little warning before they took it, heh.)

Ah, that's great thanks, hadn't spotted it before and trying to dig through the multitude of AC:IV threads seemed rather daunting.

It looks like an alternate version of the one Game over here has.


About the last point though, I took it saying deposit and them shipping out a physical item to us to mean that we won't get anything back if we cancel.

I'm quite sure it's the same map as the UK GAME one just folded to fit into the Pre-Order box/case

Yes that's my interpretation of it as well but it'd be nice to know for sure

I thought the same at first but then comparing it to the one pictured in Lowly's thread.

The Game one says "Pride of the West Indies" at the top right, only four picture panels on the right and four red crosses.
The Ubi one in your post says something about "Pirate's Trophy" at the bottom left, six picture panels at the right, also has at least five red crosses (maybe a sixth behind the case) although whilst the ones near Havana are the same and you can just see the Northernmost one peeking out from under the DVD case, the other two at the East are only grey/black points on the Game one.


Although ignore me, I'm just over-analysing it, I love trying to spot little differences like this.

i suspect different maps for different DLC perhaps?
the map i have is the EB Games AUS "Pride of the West Indies" and will unlock
-Golden Dual Swords
-Teasure Hunter MP skin
-Special Wheel
-MP Relic

JB Hi-Fi also has the same DLC but is called "Trove of Mystery" and from what i can make out in their images, thats exactly what the map has written on it.

Mighty Ape's map is called "Castaway's Treasure" and contains
-Captain Kenway's Legacy
- 2 MP maps

I of course believe you about the DLC differences between retailers as that is to be expected but do you have any of the Australian maps on hand or are there any pictures that depict differences?

Or is this just your opinion? Reasonable theory btw

Eb games is the only retailer to give out the preorder bonuses ahead of time, so until release I can't confirm it, so theory only at this stage.

Even if I don't care too much for the smaller treasure maps
