They can play it (except PC where they would need to download the game and this is restricted until release).

Why do you ask?

Right, Thx for the answer Just curios. I´m waiting for my preordered Pip-boy Edition for Ps4 and was wondering if it was possible to play before the release date if i get it a little bit earlier? I thought that no one could play the game until the release date.

No prob.

No on console there is usually nothing holding the game back from being played... no block or anything. Some games are online only (like Destiny), and some games have a required day one patch because they were rushed into production... but these are fairly rare cases.

Also members of the press get early copies sometimes weeks in advance and play (so really there is no way they would not you are not one of them anyways).

Really it is not a big deal. I know we really get excited and want ot play the game we are waiting for but people make too much of a big deal out of "early" or "leaked" copies (people even pay big money for those sometimes). It really is silly. I get a new game and usually do not even play it right off... lol.

Exactly my thought like you wrote about that it could require like some patch och code. Now i know

Haha, know what you mean. i´m a bit like you. i usually keep my new games sealed way to long. Some of them end up still sealed months after release

Most likely this is not the case for Fallout 4. It will not require and update to play (though it is usually best to update to help with bugs... but it will not stop the game form working). Also they probably pre-load the day 1 patch far in advance anyways.

Yeah I usually open it but will finish an old game or just will not play for a few days. I tend to be a "in the mood" gamer. I have to feel like playing... sometimes I need to force myself to get started and then after a game grabs me then I can play each day for awhile.

Yeah, I'll need to do that in future but some good news, called today and with no hassle whatsoever they said they'll refund me the difference as that's the price they promised to pay me. (Think I just got lucky this time that I had it in writing from them that I'd get charged £19.95! )

You mean the Pip-Boy Edition?

If so do not cancel, I am sure someone here would be very grateful to take it off your hands.

That is good news!

Yeah I am sure the written evidence is why... also sometimes it depends on the person you talk to (what kind of person they are or what mood that are in ).
