The most expensive game I've *ever* owned was a cart-only copy of the US release of Stadium Events (NES)...paid $1200 (US) plus an NTSC Super Turrican NES proto in '07. It has since been sold, on June 30, 2010 for $2202 US. Currently, the game I own which cost me the most was a VGA 80 Dragon Warrior IV (NES)...paid $800 for it (a pittance, considering the last factory-sealed DW 4 on eBay went for $2025...ungraded...never mind the 85 that's on eBay right now for $4500 o_O ). I will say this, though...I tend to seek out deals on games whenever I buy them...and more often than not, you may be surprised at how little I've paid to acquire a lot of my rarer games (Valkyrie Profile 2 Artifact Box complete plus a factory-sealed Xenosaga Episode 1 Premium Box for $140 shipped, Valkyrie Profile Limited Box for $94 shipped, etc.).

Edit: Super Turrican was NTSC, not PAL .

And yes it's the US CE. I was visiting California and he was out doing an interview or something like that. Huge crowd of people shouting at him as he's leaving to get an autograph. Most people had DVD's and just notepads.

I pull out this giant batman thing, he does short double take and say's "You know im not the creator of this right?" I say "I know but it's still awesome!" he just laughs and signs it.
That's brilliant! I'd have gotten him to sign my first printing of The Long Halloween, because TDK is based upon it

The most I've paid for a game would be £120 for the Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition. It's a nice enough CE but oh how I wish I'd not been conned by the hype and waited a few weeks until it dropped to half price.

Still, I learned my lesson with Skyrim and got that reaaly cheap but, on the downside, I didn't learn my lesson with Gears of War Epic edition and got burned again

Trying to figure out what to buy straight away and what to leave really is a gambler's game . . .sadly, i'm not very good at it

Yeah same...I hesitated with the God Of War Trilogy and it sold out before release, i ended up paying slightly above RRP for mine, you never know what's going to happen...which is a pain in the arse....i too paid £129 for GT5 but i dont regret it too much since this is the risk you take, you win some you lose some.

I pay full price for pretty much everything unfortunately, as I don't like taking the risk that it might sell out, which is pretty infuriating when most things drop to half price or less in months xx

Bought Bioshock Limited Edition(xbox360) for $300 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector's Edition(ps3) for $200 both sealed/mint the same day. I guess is not too bad, trying to save money for now.

The most I've paid for something is not too high, but there are some things that are worth a lot more than its original price...

Obviously, a sealed Magna Carta 2 CE goes for a lot more than its release price of ~$90.

I'm still looking for the Korean exclusive AC1 Premium Limited Edition, which was released at around $90 as well... a lot of members have asked me to find them this thing, but I'm having the hardest time!
A complete edition of this (it never came sealed) sold for $250 two years ago. Not sure how much they'd go for now :/

Also, I have a Dead Rising servbot mug signed by Capcom's Keiji Inafune. Only 500 exist...so in sheer rarity, this would be the rarest
