i think when manufacturer costs stabilize and go down, we will have one unified PS4 PRO model as the one and only PS4 offering..i don't think the "dual track" PS4 sku model is intended by SONY to be a permanent thing..i don't see how that makes sense, whomever wants to splurge on a PS4 to play games in HD..why would they want to gimp themselves? why not spend 20% more and get top spec resolution..so i think in 2018 PS4 pro will be available for same price as PS4 in 2017 and they will phase it out. thats my theory..streamlined simplified manufacturing can brings prices down.

well xhunter, i see a lot of criticism leveled at Nintendo by the famous talking heads for the specs of Nintendo home consoles being inferior to the big guns..i think people who buy into PS4..or willing to spend $400 on a console..would expect smooth framerates, and clean unmuddled graphics.

The majority of people that buy consoles don't care about frame rates and resolutions. If it looks nice and plays nice, that's good. Parents and grandparents buying the console for their kids and grandkids won't be paying any attention to that. When I worked in retail, they almost always went for the cheaper option over the more expensive option that made things a little prettier.

Don't mistake a vocal minority for a majority.

No need to argue about this guys. It is indeed true that the vocal minority is the one that is sour about frame rate and resolution but at the same time having a better frame rate and resolution is not a bad thing at all.

It's never bad to have a more powerful console for cheaper price. But also same time it's good to have a more cheaper price console that plays the same game as not everyone can afford and prefer to get the cheaper one.

Case point we have, PS4 and PS4 pro, Wii u, all the 2ds/3ds. Soon to have Scorpio. Cheaper option is there for a reason.
