You are correct! Because we are PlayStation, we have to have a consistent look to our packaging. Since we're not sold at retail, we thought we would forgo the big gratuitous shots of the statue on the outside of the box. Less is more...

Thanks,
G

I think the box will be a blue box with the name of statue on it, like the Jak Orb.

Thank you very much for the photos Gary. I'm shocked at the speed of which you posted them soon after my comment! And by the way, if you/Sony needs an in house photographer, I'm your man.

Lol! No problem. Whenever we launch a product, I like to hang out and get feedback from collectors. I love this stuff as much as you guys do and at the moment, our gear site doesn't have a way to solicit feedback, so I hit a lot of statue forums to answer questions, provide info, that kind of stuff.

With regard to photography, the ThinkGeek folks usually handle that in-house. The problem was, I was a bit hesitant to send out the one extra master we had in CA because the design is very fragile and without an EPS foam insert that is made specifically for the statue, you could end up with a bunch of broken pieces. I've had bubble wrap and popcorn fail too many times. I had three samples of a large premium format size statue that I'm making for one of our other AAA games show up wrapped in bubble wrap and they were destroyed.

Since the Journey shipment will be at our warehouse by Friday, the ThinkGeek Solutions folks are going to pull one from inventory to take the photos of, so you can see the quality on one of the production statues.

In the meantime, here's some pics I took with my iPhone. , an the concept art from the game's Art Director, Matt Nava.

Thanks,

Wow... looks a lot better then the very vague picture on the site.

I wish I could have gotten into this game, as this is a great statue from a great statue maker!

Just not my type of game sadly.

It's all good. Collecting is subjective. I'm glad you could appreciate the work that went into it, even if its not your type of game.

However, stay tuned! I'm working on a bunch of collectible busts, statues and vehicles right now, and some of them are based on some classic PlayStation titles. So, if there was a game that had a good following, but no one made a licensed statue for it back in the day, I just may be tackling it. If you guys have ideas for cool Collectibles, shout them out! Just remember though, right now i'm only making SCEA game based Collectibles.

Thanks!
Gary

Yup, most things are subjective for sure. You do great work, no one could deny that. Really for me you guys are in the top bracket... my inFAMOUS Delsin statue is the bar for all my other and future statues! By far the best quality statue I have owned, it is way better then my Dragonborn statue that retailed for twice as much. You guys offer amazing quality at s price that fans can afford. Some advice though, if moving stock becomes a cost vs. reward issue try to convince Sony they need to release these for or around the launch of their games in that franchise (this will also act as help in marketing for the game too).

Hmmm... Crash? I know, I know... could not say but it is fun to guess

Can't wait to see all that comes next!

Wow Gary.. the Journey statue is so classy.. simple yet elegant! Like flatout mentioned, these iphone pictures look better than the one shown on Playstation Gear site lol.

Btw since you guys focus on SCEA .. besides Bloodborne statue, how about Sir Galahad from the Order 1886? The Knight with his armor and weapons.. and those details.. Im pretty confident you guys would nail it. Are you guys in the progress of making one??

I would love to see some Order 1886 lithographs! Also a nice statue would be nice. Or maybe a set of busts of each knight?

Man, that statue is gorgeous. I wish some of my more worthwhile items for sale would hurry up and sell so I could buy this statue!

Hi Jon,

I'd love to do a really nice resin premium scale Galahad, but since the collectors editions shipped with a couple PVC versions, I kind of left that alone for now. I did really enjoy working on the full scale version for tradeshows.

However, I'm looking to create a line of 6" busts of all our characters so I'd like to include Galahad in that.

Thanks,

G
