If it turns out that there's anything about the shops that I can say, I'll share that as well.

@unclear: From what little I heard from the ground today, it sounds like everyone there was having a super stressful time. That's no excuse for anyone to be rude, though, and I know that kind of thing lingers and leaves a bad taste. We only sent two people to SF, and it doesn't sound like it was one of ours, but PM me and we'll try to work out something to send you to make up for you having to go away bummed.
Ok, that definitely clears up why it appeared to me that noone was unpacking anything (and at times even packing stuff up more with plastic wrap). I will edit my post and redact any prior speculation that was under the assumption the stores would still be opening.

I am really sorry to hear this news, not only as a customer, but also for you guys, as it must be frustrating for you too (I imagine the reason for the cancellation was something out-of-your-hands). On some level, this actual makes me feel better about how things went down at the store when I asked about the opening. For one, it clarifies why he couldn't give me an informative answer, and also explains why he would most likely have been frustrated with the situation himself.

I do not think it is necessary for you to compensate me for anything, although at the same time I wouldn't decline, so I will be sending you a PM.

I would also like to apologize if in my frustration I came off at all crass in my previous posts. Not the best way to intro myself to these wonderful forums that I have been an active reader of for sometime now.

If its any consolation you didn't come across bad at all. You came across as someone passionate and disappointed and let's face it we're all passionate about games and our collections - it's why we're on here. It was interesting to read your update and totally understand why you felt the way you did so stress not - good to have you here!

Hmmm I wonder what happened? I bet the artists are bummed about not having their work on display. Did I read that the originals were going to be sold at one of the stores? What's gonna happen to them now?

It seems we should all have a better chance of getting the prints we want from the online store now though, I hope there's a limit per customer to help stop the scalpers.

@unclear sorry to hear about your bad experience, but welcome to the forum Let us all know what they send ya

At least one of the originals is for sale, costing >$1000. As far as I was told, by the artist per e-mail, they can be shipped.

My buddy just sent me an email with a pic of the store. He went earlier today not realizing that the stores were cancelled. Early yesterday I sent him an email telling him about the cancelations, but he obviously missed the email. It's nice to know at least that I can count on him for this sort of stuff. Not posting the pic because what's the point really.

I've decided to post the pic after all; if only to show the Croft statues that I hadn't seen before. They look like they're pretty awesome. Anyone seen these before? I'm guessing maybe it's Oxmox. Who knows though.

Such a shame. Looks like a good shop.
