The 10 Best CEs of the Last Generation

In terms of Bioshock 1, The figurine and cover art were great but the rest of the CE was just so-so... The Bioshock 2 CE on the other hand was phenomenal the packaging was great the inclusion of a vinyl record was awesome, and the bet part was the hidden messages in the poster that no one discovered until long after the games release... it's just a shame the game was a turd

One of my all time favorite CEs that no one has mentioned yet is the Sniper Ghost Warrior Survivor Edition:

limited to 200 units, came in a real ammo box that saw military use... a pretty stand-out CE to me.

So I was thinking to myself "Assassin's Creed has way more CEs than any other game, I wonder what the best AC CE is..."

Looking through the database I think the 3 best AC CEs are all for AC3... these are my top 3 AC CEs...


Assassins Creed III - Ultra Limited Edition
-Comes with a life-sized statue of Connor
-only 4 ever made (available only by contest)





Assassins Creed III - Ultimate Special Edition


-includes the entire "Freedom Edition"
-includes a really nice AC3 Satchel
-includes a really nice crate container
-includes a steelbook and tons of other bonuses
-only 8 made (auctioned off on eBay for charity)



Assassins Creed III Ubi-Workshop Edition


-really nice looking package
-includes huge hard cover AC Encyclopedia
-includes huge graphic novel collection
-fairly limited production


Thoughts? These were the three CEs for AC that really stood out tome as being something other than a just a nice box or figurine and some DLC.

For me, its actually the Ubiworkshop edition, because of the original packaging. The thing for those 3 is; they are all just bundles. The aussie one is nice, but I dont see any work behind it. Just take those promo items and put them into cheap box from ikea-like-aus-shop. And the japanese full size connor edition; just grabthe connor (which is still available on retail) and put it together with game. I know it doesnt make much sense, but I feel that the ubiworkshop edition is more special than the others.

Absolutely agree with you on the Halo Reach Legendary Edition. I don't know why I never picked one up when they were $20, but probably because I wasn't really into collecting at that point and already had the limited edition and didn't have the room. But they are fantastic!

Also, I'm curious to hear what people think about the Halo 3 Legendary edition as a contender? I saw that a few posts ago and felt that the Reach version absolutely blew that one out of the water in all areas. While I think the Halo 3 was good to include an iconic symbol such as the Master Chief helmet, it just didn't have that same "themed" feel to it and certainly isn't in my top 10.

I agree with you on the statue... but the Ultimate Special Edition wasn't a bundle, it came in it's own crate, which had a nice leather finish and the Assassin's logo, IMO it looks much nicer than the Uncharted 3 Explorer Edition crate, especially since the crate WAS the packaging and it didn't have ugly marketing cardboard covering it all up.







not to mentioned they were numbered with the number printed directly on the crate, which was pretty bad-ass... and who can complain about a CE who's profits went to charity.

Yeah, forgot to write that the numbering, and charity kind of makes it better but still, they could just made it little bit different.

its still cool edition, but I'd still prefer the ubiworkshop one, even the australian is probably better
