I'm not aware of the limitation or minimum unit production but i find it hard to see a plethora of some of the steelbooks released in the past.

Crysis 2 Nana Edition - only 200 unit for Australia
Soul Calibur IV - a bonus steelbook for pre-orders only! No way that many gamers made a preorder on that game back then
Mortal Kombat KE [UK] which is also identical to the Canadian Futureshop - also very limited

And then you got all those variant front covers for FIFA 12, surely they didn't print 4000 each on those??

I think the minimum is 500 (if I remember correctly) but of course, that's to help minimise costs, so obviously some retailers/manufacturers could work out deals with Steelbook.com to make smaller batch quantaties (like what you can do in warehouses) xx

Sorry, scratch that 4000 appears to be correct I think, but same goes for what I said, big companies will no doubt be able to work out deals with steelbook.com

Also, the minimum order for "Steelbook Label" (stickerbooks) is 2000, so half the amount of steelbooks xx

The only thing i know is that zavvi sent my MGS today, so hopefully i will receive it next thursday.
Im just sad that i missed out on the crystal edition of FF, but im broke anyways .

I'm in a minority in that I'm not too upset with stickerbooks - for example, I do like my Dead Island one - very nice. But then, if they made a 'real' one and had them side by side which would I prefer?

I think the bottom line is that (for me) it should be one or the other - none of this 2 different types rubbish
