I understand peoples frustrations - I think the main issue is people buying simply just to sell on for lots of profit...I don't think this is a simple black and white issue that many seem to imply.

What people need to understand is that not everyone wants to sell nor can afford to outright buy all these SEs.

For example, when I got my U3 EE I simply could not turn down £40 profit with Christmas coming up (and having kids to buy pressies for)...tho I was gutted to sell it on I was happy to sell to a collector at a price cheaper than eBay - in a way everyone wins...I bought the US CE and eventually picked up the chest + other bits for that £40

Likewise with this edition - however this time I have purchased 2, one to keep and one to sell...I don't mind admitting it, I wish I could afford it outright - but I can't. I will probably list the X360 one here for £150 + shipping, that I feel is a price that ensures the buyer doesn't simply stick it straight on eBay and will mean a collector gets one at a reasonable price, it also means I can keep my other one

I understand what you're saying Gaz, but I'm sorry, I have to disagree.

If you cannot afford all the CEs, you simply just don't get all the CEs. I mean, fuck - I know what it's like to be skint. I really do. But, I'm usually skint from buying too many CEs If I run out of money one month, and can't get some CEs, I cancel them, simple as that. I definitely don't want to, but just because I can't afford it doesn't mean I should punish someone who can, by forcing them to pay a percentage more, just to help me out.

Lots of people would probably disagree with me in one way or another, but that's just how I feel.

If you can't turn down a £40 profit at Christmas due to having kids that you need to buy presents for, then really you shouldn't buy the CE at all, and buy the presents.

I always have a budget for AJ's presents, and although I usually go over it and buy him more, if it was a case of "oh, do I get this CE for me? or do I buy him that present?" then I'd go for his present. I'd feel shit if I put myself before him (although he does get CEs too, albeit Disney ones, etc )

I dunno, I just don't feel comfortable ripping people off for my own gain, even if some months I do pray for more money xx

I don't totally disagree with what you're saying but I can't help the release schedule can I?

Also I am a bit of a magpie...I like to get lots of shiney new things, and (TBH) it wasn't about the £40 it was more about the £140 - £40 being the profit, but clearly at xmas £140 is a lot of money is most peoples books.

The other thing is my financies fluctuate wildly as I'll have a splurge and then maybe stick a load of loft toot on eBay - something I find myself in a spot (like recently with the Portal gun) and then other times I think 'do I really want/need this?' (like with the MGS Risk board game).

However what I'm not about is simply buying to sell on at profit. Hell I could just stick my fingers up to collectors here and go straight to the bay - more money for me and more money collectors will have to part with.

I like to think it's a middle ground but we all have our opinions.

BTW my offer still stands for the DI Twin packs

Haha, it's okay, I do understand what you mean, it's just not right for me.

It's fine I managed to get a 360 one for retail, will just pick up a PS3 one at some point when I have money again haha xx

I'm not totally honest when it comes to make a profit, but I'm not the sort of person that preorders stuff just to resell. Nothing like that.

I have two preorders for this. If they all come through I will let a UK member keep the other two. I just need to make sure that I will receive my edition from Game.es because I preordered a couple of months before they stopped sending items to Portugal...

So you can't afford to buy it, yet you buy two copies?

i probably should of never posted about how much i sold my CE for, seems to get under some people skin.

At the end of the day, it should not bother anyone what someone else does with there money. goonergaz i applaud you defending yourself, but you should not have to do so on a forum.

I tend to agree, but I also feel for the collectors who miss out due to my actions.

The problem is double standards, it seems OK for folk to list some ultra rare press kit for £1000+ yet if someone needs to wheel a deal a little to get what they want they get jumped on.

I can understand those who ordered a handful for nothing other that sticking on eBay, but really it's not black and white and folk shouldn't be so judgemental IMHO...after all people are not forced to pay the prices.

Would everyone be happier if I sat on my spare copy for a couple of months then sell it on for a silly amount of money when they've dried up on eBay? At least I've been honest...I recon a lot of the sales on here are profits so what's the big deal?

I did say that I understand why people do it. To get more stuff at the end of the day, and I know everybody is allowed an opinion (I actually thought I'd be the one umped on tbh), I just stated that I don't agree with it. I don't agree with listing anything for insane prices purely to make a profit. I tend to avoid those auctions, etc.

I know that at the end of the day, if someone chooses to pay the extra £50 or whatever, it's up to them, I mean, if you're desperate enough for an item, you'll pay anything for it I suppose. I've paid a little over the odds for one or two items in the past, but I really grudge doing it.

Anyway, I'm done on the topic. I know both sides of the argument so not much else can be said xx
