They state it's an open edition. I don't have much experience with the store, but does that mean there will be a limited version available later? Do they usually post the open and limited version at the same time?

The term open edition refers to the run of an item not being numbered. The modify watches are un-numbered and generally non-collectible. They're usually meant for everyday use.
