Re: The Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition Spotted On Amazon.com
You make a great point Sylf - with the "free" 1 month play, you'd get to experience much of what the game has to offer I'd imagine, even just playing for ~10hrs or so that month (which is probably a high estimation on my part). Many of the CEs I purchase don't even get THAT much gameplay (or at least haven't yet). If you like the CE I suppose it'll just be one of those that sits on a shelf somewhere. And if they do eventually go F2P then you've already got a nice CE and can jump on board I still wish they had a better statue though...

I know that there are exceptions to this but any game that can keep people occupied for longer than a month is worth paying for. People can throw around examples like Guild Wars 2, Battlefield series or even DayZ but I don't think that those games are backed up by the fact that there is a dedicated software house building on just this one game and they need to be paid if you're going to keep getting quality updates. If people aren't willing to pay the monthly fee then that's fine and the model is just not for you. That doesn't mean that this is destined to go F2P. I just don't understand the hate on it. I'd also like to clarify that my statement about the other development studios is based on the fact that NCsoft, Dice and Bohemia are all great and large studios but they work on so many games at once, cutting the post-launch development to a minimum. |
