Did you backed the new Tim Schafer's project, Double Fine Adventure?

Donating USD100 (if i remember well) grants you a boxed copy of the game, designed like in the good old days.

I think there's even a CE signed by Schafer and other member of the team, for a higher participation.

Brian Fargo is doing the same thing with his Wasteland 2 project.

He didn't, but I did! :evillaugh:
I informed him too late, my bad >_<
Surely some will be on eBay with more than 11k people that have paid for the boxed edition;

yep, sure.

I backed for the regular boxed edition, but now i'm starting to regret the signed CE...

I wonder if there is a way, by mailing them or something, to "upgrade" to the CE once i have the money, and before they ship it of course^^

There are some Great Games you have there

Are you going to set them up in display cabinets?
For i have damaged some games including my lucky 38 Fallout box

Hence why the wife told me to use some old bookcases not used & move 2 bookcases full of DVDs & Blurays down stairs to make space.

Wink Hey guys...

@Gwal: No man I missed out on backing Schafer's project on Kickstarter. I'm very, very upset about this. Hopefully I can get a copy of the CE or regular boxed edition on ebay when it hits...

@Sirren: You bastard...

@Hans: I am a small, specific collector so I don't see my collection growing to the point where I need large cabinets...yet. Someday when I have my own home and can do as I want. Right now I have limited space, but I use it well. All my large editions and figures I have a specific table or floor space for them. I always put a cloth under anything on the floor...

I have 2 custom made wooden shelves (open, no doors) that are very nice and I'm quite proud of them. I put all my small collector, limited and standard games on. One shelf has Playstation, Nintendo, Sega, while the other is all Xbox. The shelves were handmade here in my home with the help of my father and cousin so they're pretty special to me and still plenty of space left on 'em.

Aww, too bad indeed.

Hopefully as said before, you'll find someone disappointed by the game and selling it on the bay... or an investor trying to get some bucks out of it^^

I'm waiting for the money to back wasteland 2 ATM. And i'm watching this too:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...rce=newsletter

The game looks interesting and although they said they couldn't make a reward for a boxed copy, i still hope^^

Yea, I think you'll see much more "digital" only games and content from Kickstarter projects than you will physical. Double Fine and inXile have the financial capacity, experience and status to do that - but not many startups will unless they get way way more funding than expected...

That game does look good. Kudos for sharing! Really loving Kickstarter atm. How it's just taken off because of Double Fine and now inXile is incredible. The new "facebook" movement for video games has begun...

This will most likely be like this...

However, what may happen and what i hope, is that on the contrary some development teams will still offer big boxed games on kickstarter, as it is a strong "bait" for some people and then it's likely to bring them backers who wouldn't have helped them, or paid less, if the bonuses were digital only.

In fact that's what i would have done, backing only $15 to get the steam version instead of 110 for the box...

Hey, that makes me think about something, it may be off topic but what is the most recent big boxed game you had on PC? I mean apart from CE, just a plain big box for a standard game like in the old days...

I received a big boxed copy of FEAR 2 Project Origin, ordered in Germany because it was the cheapest price at the moment and french subtitles were available on steam. I expected a regular case and when i saw that box i was like WTF :O

That was in 2009! Those germans are amazing when it comes to pc gaming.

Well for big box PC games I only collect retro. The last big box PC game I got (that was not a CE) was Full Throttle (1994) - The Sirren helped me get it and I believe it's in the picture update I just posted here...
