AR Tonelico Qoga (Premium Box)

Platform: Playstation 3
Edition: (Premium Box)
Format: 1

Published by NIS America
Released in United States on Mar 15, 2011 at a price of $59.99

The Premium Box of Ar tonelico Qoga Knell of Ar Ciel comes is a large square shaped box and contains the following:

  • Standard copy of the  game ( Unsealed)
  • A hardback visual art book
  • Original soundtrack ( Paper sleeve)

History
A few days after launch the publisher NIS America contacted those who had purchased the premium box set from their website. This was in regards to several complaints that the soundtrack CD was missing from their premium box. After investigating NIS concluded that CD’s were inadvertently left out of some of the boxes during the assembly process at Sony’s manufacturing facility. Those who did not receive the CD were advised to fill in a claim form online for a free of charge replacement copy.

Pre-order incentive
Those who pre-ordered the premium box set from the NIS America website, had the opportunity to purchase a purge party calendar for an additional $10. The calender was vastly more limited than the premium box set, It contained 12 pages of artwork from the game. The bundle was referred to as Ar tonelico Qoga Cosmosphere Calendar Set by NIS America.

Rated M? I guess it must have a lot of naughty & suggestive scene.

As your characters get more powerful, they wear less clothes. It goes all the way down to their undies.

That's probably why this game got the M rating.

    perverts ^^

Another great JRPG for the PS3....seems I have to buy one.

There are far too little JRPG's for the Xbox 360

Really? There's Final Fantasy XIII, Lost Odyssey, Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, Resonance of Fate, Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, and Enchanted Arms. (and I may be missing some others)

I don't see many exclusive JRPGS for the PS3 right now, other than maybe White Knight Chronicles and Valkyria Chronicles.

Honestly, if you want to play JRPGS these days, you will need a DS and PSP.

  6. Ayiu:
lol yea...I really love JRPG's and I can't get enough of them....I played them all except of Star Ocean and Resonance.

But after my exams I'm going to start with Resonance

Star Ocean is soo hard to complete but maybe one time I'll do it. Seems to be a great game.

LOL Mandingo aren't you forgetting the biggest PS3 RPG ever Demon souls.

Not 100% sure if these are PS3 exclusive:

Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland, Cross Edge, Last Rebellion, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, Trinity Universe, Record of Agarest War, Hyperdimension Neptunia.

But I agree the xbox is getting some serious JRPG love, strange considering how the console sells poorly in Japan.

  8. gurpswoo1:
I'm trying to get confirmation of the limited edition in Europe.

While there is release date for Europe, there is no information from the publisher (KOEI) and as the game in the USA is being published by NIS America which will not be the Euro release.

I have a unsettling feeling that this edition is US exclusive, there is no option to contact Koei on there website about the Europe releases.

-Demon's Souls is technically a JRPG, but it tries very hard to mimic WRPG's, so I guess I never really consider it a bona fide JRPG.

-Record of Agarest War is also on Xbox 360 (with a better, naughty package)

-Everything else you mentioned PS3 exclusive, methinks, but appear to be typical NIS crap RPGs. I wouldn't be a jelly 360 owner given those are exclusive to the PS3 system, but I suppose someone else might.

-360 also has Magna Carta 2, Operation Darkness, Spectral Force 3, and Zoids Assault as exclusives.

-Finally, it is odd to see the 360 get some good JRPGs, when the original Xbox literally had ZERO JRPGs.

Ok, update for those who want to know specifically why Qoga got the M rating, here's the description from the ESRB: (WARNING: MAY BE SLIGHTLY OFFENSIVE!)

    Quote:
"Some power moves cause female characters' clothes to vanish in layers; the characters are often depicted holding (covering) their breasts, wearing only underwear, or standing behind strips of light that obscure their genitals. In one cutscene, male characters encourage a woman to strip (e.g., "Uh . . . do I have to take off even more clothes…?" and "Quit teasing us and do it already!"); another sequence depicts a male character "removing" a magical crystal from a female character—this scene is accompanied by suggestive moans and comments (e.g., "Aoto's putting his hand inside Soma" and "Fumble around every inch inside of her . . . you will find what you're looking for . . . !"). One brief cutscene depicts a female character's exposed buttocks. The words "sh*t," "a*shole," and "b*tch," appear in the dialogue."

You mean how certain JRPG's have become shamelessly risque? Yeah, I kind of see your point. WTF is happening?

There's this JRPG released in the last few months for the PSP in Japan called, 'Criminal Girls' and it's... I- I- don't even want to talk about it..

Wow I never heard about Operation Darkness, Spectral Force 3, and Zoids Assault.

I saw they were only published in the US but all three look very interesting and two of them are from Atlus

You saved my holidays Mandingo, now I have enough stuff to play

    Glad to be of service.

  15. Mandingo:
OK, U.S. now has a firm March 15th release date for Ar Tonelico Qoga. Two separate versions, unlike the Hyperdimension Neptunia 1st run editions.

Reyvateils return on March 15 when NIS America releases Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel in North America. The final game in the Ar Tonelico series will be released in two packages. The premium box includes the PlayStation 3 game, soundtrack CD with 60 minutes of hymmnos favorites, and a hardcover art book. Package art for the oversized premium box is a bit different too. The Premium Box (top) places the three main characters Saki, Aoto, and Finnel in different spots compared to the cover of the game (bottom).

on a somewhat related note. mine came with 2 copies of the soundtrack... so if you happened to be missing it, or would just like a copy of the soundtrack I'd be willing to sell my extra copy.
