You know there's nothing Konami can do to help as that particular CE was made and sold for US consumers only. You'll need a step-down converter or whatever they're called...

I picked up a step down convertor of amazon recently for a us bluray player. They are perfect for low wattage items like these:

Yeah, Konami won't be of any help. They haven't done anything wrong. If the CE was universal fair enough but it is not.

GAME has a G1 and G2 version of the steel book, when i picked up my copy from in store today they only had G2 there as the G1 hadn't arrived, should be in later today so i should be able to pick it up.

Don't mind the other games, they're just apart of the picture. Except the MGR poster and the MGR' pen on EU LE's left side.

A friend is selling an american LE, but 219 euros :/ So i'm not sure if i'll get it or now as i've heard so many bad things about the lamp (not working [plasma]) or might be dangerous etc. But i'm waiting for the japanese limited edition and the fig from the EU LE seems to be the same as the konami style premium package, so no use of buying it apart.

Anyone has the US LE here ? What's your comment concerning that lamp ? Worth the price ? What's the lifespan?

I just ordered the Japanese LE from Nippon-yasan.com They had it for a great price, so I really hope that it works out well.

Anyone think picking up the US LE is worth it? This game wasn't really on my radar until recently but it looks pretty cool. Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Rising-Revengeance-Limited-Edition-Xbox-360/dp/B009LWQ8EU) have it for $150 + $16 postage to Australia.

There's no problem for me with the lamp as I have a stepdown transformer from my Xbox days (imported console).

Are these likely to drop in price any time soon?

OKay, I want to hear form someone on this... how do you like the lamp?

I just checked pictures/vids of it and the "product" photos looked so much better then the real thing (IMO). The plasma seems much thicker and bluer then the orginal product photos.

Oh and people are already trying to sell these for $100-250 on eBay... when you can probably still get the LE from outlets online for the original price.

Really? Like $80-$90 dollars fantastic? Because that is what you pay for it in the LE... and these LEs, from what I gather, aren't very limited.

Seems like the lamps I saw when I was young (back when these were popular along with lava lamps) but with a sword handle and the MGR logo.

It is "nice" but I personally wouldn't say fantastic... well not $90 worth of fantastic.

i received my premium package today morning + black raiden PAK figure, i call it TruenoStyle lol
3 days via ems is awesome for 60$ and 160$ for both figure and the premium package far more better than any non standard edition out there especially the american version which sucks. the european one have a better looking box than the US one but that white figure isnt attractive but easily beats a stupid plasma lamp well collectors items wise. so for the best quality and value, the japanese LE rules like always after that european for konami/mgs games that is. american gets the worst editions sadly.
oh did i mention that i hate MG Rising alot ?! lol dont ask :p

hehe nah, for 150 its not worth it mate, if you think this collectible items is awesome, you didnt see the fallout new vegas neon sign, thats what i call a real collectible piece involving a lighting source item.
i would prefered the limited edition to include the mini replica letter cutter of raiden sword instead of this plasma lamp :p

well if am going to state whats wrong with rising this will be a long post.
as a long time metal gear fan, i can identify tiny details that makes rising bad as a spin-off for other metal gear fans.but i cant force my professional opinion on non metal gear fans who just enjoy rising as a whole new game for its hack and slash gameplay.
am yet to finish it. after that will attack konami PG and kojima :rotf:
sadly they wont care what i think as long its still selling and bringing them profit so its pointless nowadays.....

i dont know why they bothered with the alert/cation phase in rising, they thought the series fans will appreciate it, HA !! not with the core gameplay is action cut what you will style.
people these days dont even bother with demos after release just a quick look at review scores and thats an immediate buy for them.....sadly.
btw AC!D was a better spin-off than rising :p am not saying i dont like slash n hack but they should have left metal gear brand out of it am talking about PG taking over and spill all of bayontta and vanqish influence over it not to mention some ex-capcom stupid idea to make mistral look like lucia.
just finished it and i must say its horrible .....
slashing gameplay mechanic is ok but anything else they thought is related to metal gear as a series was a joke and not even worth the time and dedication.
this is only a tiny part of why the whole thing is crap.
oh well its not over yet with PG as kojima wants them to make another one....maybe just maybe they learn how to make it stands out and being true to the metal gear series but i personally doubt it as i know now how the operate when developing a game which isnt theirs to begin with.

I think if you imagined Raiden's perspective in MGS 4 it would be fairly similar to how this game plays, sure its not perfect but Kojima's team couldn't even make it at all.

The game feels very tongue in cheek towards Metal Gear (especially a certain part in the last fight) but it's quite hard to take Metal Gear Solid seriously too.

It's also distant enough from the original series -timewise - (the canon that was already there isn't really disturbed, and the additions to the story are outside of the timeline when the Metal Gear Solid games reside) so you could easily disregard it.

I think Kojima has commented somewhere that if Rising 2 is to be made it could be on his new fox engine which would at least give it the Metal Gear 'feeling'.

you mean perspective for a (non-playable) character, there is a big difference and like you said kojipro couldn't figure out how to design it around raiden role post mgs2. but thats because they are all young and amateurs according to kojima, kojima had to ask a capable dev to make it instead who have experience in such genre.
omg ! that last fight ..... they ruined one of the most memorable epic moments in mgs saga. talking about mgs4 and how they used the sky camera to capture the last hand to hand cut scene which they shouldn't even use in a game that hasn't got any strong emotional story or characters.
mgs is on a thin line between serious and non serious. non serious usually because of the fourth wall and other gameplay humor but as a whole its very serious the solid story covers that and with ground zeros where kojima stated some taboos, a step to grow up according to david cage of quantic dream.
sunny one of the most important characters in the mg universe and look how they used her in rising .....how can i disregard that :(
i cant imagine rising 2 running on fox engine it just doesn't fit obviously. he said something about the cutting mechanics in another game.
well for me stealth gameplay in mgs is a secondary interest in the series, whole other elements what makes it the greatest games of all time, actually i dont call it a game anymore :p

Its not supposed to be MGS 5. Not sure why people would be bitching about that when Ground Zeroes is coming out anyway, so everyone will still get their traditional MGS game. Its not like Rising got made in place of MGS 5. We still have The Phantom Pain as well. I think its great that Rising was made. It offers fans a different and refreshing experience to what we are normally used to, and I thought the demo was quite fun. Most people on various forums seem to be loving Rising.

Yeah, it was the lamp one. Saw it for $50 new and sealed. Thought it'd be a neat purchase but gotta start saving some money for all my 3rd/4th quarter pre-order games coming out so I passed ;) If people are paying $100+ though still, it might be a quick investment.
