unfortunately, these types of cheap toy lamps, sometimes tend not to work at all out of the box...you may see a lot of them sold defective,...sucks for a sealed collector,..if you waited awhile to open yours only to find out the thing does'nt work right or at all, your pretty much shafted and stuck with it.

I used them recently for Bravely/Default Square Enix shop exclusive and it came well packed and at a decent speed even though I picked SAL. Using them again for Okami HD. They seem good and so far their prices are better than Nin-Nin (think they might even be the same esatblishment...) and definitely Play-Asia. Shipping prices might be a bit here/there though.

Thankfully the site layout has very recently changed. Originally the layout left much to be desired and one may have even been suspicious of them, but they've been excellent on my first order!

Edit: There are a few teething problems on the site but you'll be able to navigate easily and purchase stuff. Only the buttons and other bits of info don't translate when selecting English however, Google translate will do it for you.

Konami Style are always limited runs and exclusive to their online store. Sure, there may be some left over but it's rare for them to have any left in stock.

Chose EMS. Didn't wanna wait 3 months for boat delivery lol. I think I know whats wrong with the pricing. Because there is a limit to normal airmail price in terms of weight, the price usually goes exponential after a certain weight, say 1kg like in UK. EMS have a standard rate up to 5kg i think. That could be one of the reason.

Second reason is that it will be packaged in 2 packages and EMS charge one flat rate while Airmail charge double? Who knows =P

Word of advice for UK buyers. Of course, the likelihood is that we will pay customs charges. If you go for the more expensive express EMS service, the postal rate is also subject to these charges. Jp post options will not incur these charges as they are not express options.

Looked through my orders. I did Bravely/Default with SAL which cost ?12 (game itself was about ?100). Ended up going through Parcelforce 48hour Express. Soon as I saw "Parcelforce" I knew customs would charge me...except they didn't and haven't received a letter yet to say otherwise. Besides, they also marked the value down to ?3.

The figure in this is a colour variant, yes. The stand alone figure is black. There hasn't been any mention of the white version being available elsewhere.

Edit: How much are you thinking of selling the RAH Raiden for?

Not quite the same as the Japanese edition, but at least PAL territories will be getting the White Raiden figurine. At this stage it sounds a bit expensive at ?99.95, until there's better details as so far it's only confirmed to get - the game, Raiden figurine and dlc codes.
They say additionally, there will also be two variants of the steelbook cases...it's unclear if one of them will be included in the LE?? :nosleep:

I haven't found any news about either steelbooks being included in the PAL LE, all I've read is that two will be available...separately?? We may have to wait for an official announcement from Konami perhaps?

So far everything they release comes with Artbook. MGS HD Premium, MGS HD Konami Style, MGS HD EU CE, MGR Premium, MGR Konami Style, ZoE HD Premium, ZoE HD Konami Style, ZoE NA LE, all come with artbook. That's why I would assume there will be artbook?

But I might be wrong since MGR NA LE only have soundtrack and plasma lamp. I hope there will be artbook?

Kai is the current line but I think Solidus is the lone excetion at the moment in terms of price. The others, including Black Raiden cost a bit less. I'm guessing it's just because Solidus is a bulkier guy (i.e. the extra arms).

The others do cost a bit less, but Raiden is 30cm tall so I can't imagine it would be cheap. That's a pretty big figure. It's almost as big as 1/6 scale figures from companies like Hot Toys and those cost a lot more.

By the way, the GAME exclusive steelbook seems to be limited to UK only. Who's willing to do a group buy? lol.

The others do cost a bit less, but Raiden is 30cm tall so I can't imagine it would be cheap. That's a pretty big figure. It's almost as big as 1/6 scale figures from companies like Hot Toys and those cost a lot more.

The rest of the MGS playarts figures are around the 28-30 CM tall mark and have all cost roughly the same.

Solidus is the only exception as he is a lot more detailed with his bionic snake arms and all.....Still a huge rip off at over ?100 for him though.

It's looks really cool, resonates with the MGS theme (mainly Japanese theme), would love to have a copy later on. I think the only difference with that copy would be the Trophy Patch being on the disc?! But nothing else, although if the online mp was still active they probably would have included the dlc's :)

I wouldn't stress about it, there's nothing special about this CE. It's just the game with a PAK Raiden in white variant, which I'm sure will be available separately down the road if you really want it.

Agree about the CE's though. None of them are really anything special. I do have the Premium Package pre-ordered though, not sure if I'll bother with any others.

I had this pre-ordered (Collectors Edition) but I had to cancel... I have 2 other CEs with a month time of this one and cant afford all three (Bioshock and God of War). Plus the Lamp to me isn't worth the $90 you pay for it. The Lamp CE should have cost no more then $100, MAYBE $120.


The game itself is fun, I played it a long while back when I got Zone of Enders HD collection just to try the demo then quickly sold the collection for what i paid for it.

The US CE is way too expensive. I personally think the premium package is the best. Not the konami style one as that just adds a figure that can be bought separately anyway. Besides, white armor Raiden doesn't suit the character...

I just hope the Jap steelbook is G2.

White is exclusive to the bundles at the moment. The black is the only version that is more widely available. Red, blue and yellow will also be limited I think.
