Personally if that happened i wouldnt be sitting on me bum writting emails,i would be on the phone trying to get it resolved. If that doesnt work i would show up at their doorstep demanding satisfaction. If you pay for something you expect to recieve it in good if not perfect condition

Game company's and game seller sites have items you have pre-order in advance of release date so we pay for the Item upfront under the PayPal Buyer Protection Policy in all cases it is more than 45 day to months till the item is sent out.

If the item is not in a satisfactory condition (damage to item etc) when it is received and the place where the item was brought including overseas transaction and postal service does not give much help in replacing the item.

Ok this is getting hard so I will put it in questions:

1. I have brought a game on a games seller site, it's a pre-order in February 2013 the game is not released untill November 2013.

2. ''PayPal but do bear in mind that you have 45 days from date of payment to open a dispute.''

3. It is now November (more than 45 days since transaction) and the pre-order has been released and posted and it is not in a satisfactory condition (damaged in transit including from overseas transport say) when it has been received.

4. So my question is it looks like we are not covered under the Paypal Buyer Protection Policy because it is more than 45 days from transaction is this right?

5. If this is so what can be done to rectify the problem as it looks like no one will take responsibility. Item not covered under the buyer policy the company were the item was brought will say item was fine when posted and the postal company will say is the item insured when posted.

6. If the item was not insured who's fault is that? The sellers because there is no way to insure item on site when buying item or the buyers.

7. So my point is, Items brought that fall under a pre-order transaction and paid upfront are not under the Paypal Buyer Protection Policy because the item was received after 45 days.

8. If this is so is there anyway we can be protected when buying items on pre-order?

A pre-order policy I can not see why there should not be one as there is a binding agreement between parties it is just the time the buyer has to wait to get the item that is the problem.

Ah ok if you payed through paypal, but with a credit card then you should be covered under the credit card policy

I would look up your CC policy on charge backs as it should give you the time limit on that

OK so I have just spoken to my bank / fraud department as normal banking customer service was closed
Digital river / ubishop / uplay take payment like this
They request funds for the full amount at the time of shipping the pre order
And they also take the 7.99 GBP(or equivalent) and they bank (as in keep) the 7.99
But they do not accept the full 119.99GBP (or equivalent) so it is in your account as it is in your account balance, but not your available balance.
So you are in able to spend this money.
And usually funds are claimed / accepted / banked after 2 days and if they agree not claimed / accepted / banked by digital river (the company claiming the funds / requesting authorization / asking for the money) within 8 days then the funds (money) will become available to you (in your available balance) again

I didn't ask why they done this
I'm sure its possible to speed up the process by contacting digital river and asking them to speed up there authorization process

Only things i liked is the improved naval battle system and the interaction with the crowd while hiding.

at you mean the crowd interactions that they demo'd at E3 2012 for ACIII and then removed from the game and never mentioned it again as if it never existed, I think it would get slightly annoying if he only had 1 line of dialogue when leaving a woman on a bench and one line for leaving a gambling group... So I expect at least 30 lines if dialogue for each action as I don't want kenway to be repeating himself too often when I am playing
Yes the running kill animation was the sane but let's not complain that Ezio used altairs climbing animations for 3 games and they all use Desmond's walking animation

Let's all complain about the huge lack of loading screens so we will never be able to run in circles or into invisible walls in the animus core programming/loading screen

Instead let's complain at how they removed the option to enter first person camera mode

Have you try calling your bank regarding this rejected payment? Some banks do block transaction through paypal as far as I know.

Ubisoft needs to stop this shotgun approach of regional CEs and steels. For Ass Creed IV I have the US CE, the Black Chest Edition, the Stickerbook from Germany, and the Futureshop steel--so much money! I've got two Watch Dogs CEs, too, along with the Uplay steelbook edition and the Futureshop steel. It's crazy when just two games cost well more than a next gen system due to all this stuff haha.

Good luck getting the futureshop steel. I went to them all to get one and they said that all orders for steels were cancelled and that they might just give steels out to those who pre ordered before september. Very slim chance though.

futureshop steelbook might be the same as amazon Germany and Croatia..i doubt they wouold get some ultra rare mirror edge like steelbook....in the past futureshop said some steelies were very rare and pre sold out..3 months later they flooded there stores..and marked them down to $5 each...like Zelda, epic mickey, super Mario etc..all these were touted as ultra hard to get when the games were released in the beginning..only to be found on clearance some months later.

The Bucaneer edition you can see the flag got the AC logo... :) Same with the Black Chest :) A bit more clear as they did unpack it totally ;)

And as you can see in the pics has some kind of old look like a rucsack, like the bag that came with the journal...

I got the UBI mail the 22th with the tracking number. These last days no notice, but today they have begin with the shipment from Germany.

And, totally can't undertand how a rolled map inside this huge box can arrive completely damaged. Don't know who rolled my xbox version map, but he should be retarded...

Ubishop always ship early to make sure everyone gets it by release, some people end up getting it early.

Looks like one is the us ce though there is no description of the contents and the other is a black chest edition which is 159gbp free shipping BUT it only contains the game and the figure so as far as I can work out there is no map, steel book, soundtrack or artbook with it
