How long have you been collecting for Video Games?

So I joined this site last fall and had been collecting video game steelbooks and collector edition guides for about a year at that point

Had some CE's but not many, didn't actively collect them

Since I've joined though I've gotten rather passionate about collecting a lot more things.

CE's, Press kits, art, promos etc.

I'm curious how long people have been collecting as I am really starting to feel like I've come to this late and will never catch up

I'm starting this thread as I think a lot of people probably started collecting before they joined this site

I still say what you've managed to achieve with your AC collection in a year and a half is incredible :D

Albeit being in Europe probably helps a little

It seems like it must have been longer to amass that bunch rubbish but I know it was after the 3rd and before the 4th
So that puts its that long ago

And being in Europe I dunno.. Most of my purchases where from UK only except for the obvious foreign items

I voted 3-5 years as that's how long I've been collecting seriously, but I've been buying games, guides and the odd figure for over 15 years I would say.

Well you could say I started collecting since I got hooked on computers and gaming in general, I was eight at the time and it all started with the Commodore 64. I basically haven't stopped since.

I'm 35, so that makes it 27 years! Holy shit, didn't think it was that long, haha. @_@

Thanks for the link! I still can't believe how he managed to have all those 360 consoles. Plus that fallout statue made my jaw drop literally!

I guess i would say about 7 or 8 years collecting bits & pieces. Sold a ton it off as i was just moving around to much then probably in the last 2 years started to accumulate things again. Joined this acursed site & that was it,warp factor 9 Mr Zulu empty wallet ahead Mr Spock:D Lesson learnt dont sell the rare stuff,trying to find them again is one thing & paying a ridiculous price for it is something else:(

I totally understand that! When it came to getting back some of the stuff I sold it took me a long time and ridiculous cost.... But sometimes it can't be helped as the disposable income we spend on collectibles comes in hand for real life priorities!
