Yeah some areas in Eastern Europe are very expensive for CE's but Australia is actually very expensive as well

I think it may have something to do with the US dollar being stronger in years gone past but I doubt 60 USD ever equaled 109 AUD :facepalm:

Edit: Highest historical exchange rate is 1 USD for 1.55 AUD

In essence a 60 USD would cost 90 AUD but that's very simplified anyways

The RRP is $109, but very rarely is any standard copy of a game that price. Most games (360 & PS3) these days are between $69-$89. Boxed PC versions are usually $20 cheaper again.

The rumour was true for the Special Edition... They have a bigger Collectors Edition as well. Another safety deposit bag with lock.

Quite a disappointment I must say.. Will still get it for the DLC content though..

you should know thats its never about the contents of the CE for rockstar games but the game itself. rockstar isnt a crap company that make shit games,people pay them for their epic game every one of them throughout the years and not for CE quality or contents like what happens with ubisoft games.
one of my rules of gaming is always support your favourite company when you know their games are a legendary, pay extra, pay more for whatever they got regardless of what your getting physical items/extras wise.
as am slowing or almost stopping collecting for now, gta will be my last major CE for this year and maybe for years later only of course mgs didnt release anything and that wont happen :p

Maybe they are releasing it in batches to give the impression they are limited and when stocks are available again, people grab them quick in case they get sold out again.. And then Rockstar releases another batch to retailers.

I'm just guessing. I doubt Rockstar would have underestimated their sales on badly that they are sold out within days..

I was totally worried when on another thread ppl said that the website based CE/SE were sold out so I did some digging... Luckily found that there are alot of stores selling it... Bought it in one store... Den found out a couple of days later that a gamestore which I have a huge amount of points on is selling it now 2, so I have 2 cancel my first one and buy it in le game store. DLC means nothing to me, I always sell day one DLC. I get a $60 game and sell the DLC for $10 or more and save money. That way if i sell the game after beating it I break even, or if I loved the game and keep it I got it for a little less.

The money bag really is not a high end item IMO... not worth the gap it is supposed to fill in the cost, at least in my opinion.

But like Swift said the cap is actually worth $25 to someone who would buy it at a store.

I got the second print when ordering from Game as they had it exclusive in the UK. The first one came with the guide as you mentioned

Yeah that was the litho that came with the CE guide.

On the left, the backing page for the guide book when it's sealed. On the right, an envelope/ slipcover that the litho was in when it was all sealed up. ^^

I'm sure it's just me but my first impression was that the envelope was more solid than the actual litho.

As a comparison it's kind of at the level of the AC III ubiworkshop edition lithos, maybe dare I say it a touch thinner. It's certainly not a solid card.

Matt is referring to the Collectors Edition Strategy Guide, the extra Litho came with orders ONLY from GAME stores in the UK, whilst stocks last i guess.

It is as said available in other countries aswell as a bonus incentive.
