Definitely a missed opportunity with the screenprint tryptich from earlier this year. I like them, I've got them hung, but imagine a Mass Effect analogue to the Stout or Moss Star Wars sets.

The company that we were using in the UK was never able to sort out the many problems we were having with their systems and etc, so we've had to redirect our attention. We have some new options in the works, but I don't see them being up and running before Summer. Until we move warehouses, we're not going to be restocking the one that didn't work, so it's kind of an awkward failure we haven't totally figured out how to address in public....

Totally feel you on that. I'm always a snob for screenprints, but I think this image (and the logo on it) will still work for you. Also, I pushed to have it done at 24 x 36, so it'll be impressive looking regardless. Really hope you guys like it.... We're aiming to have it be like The Team, and are doing an oversized signed and numbered version as well as an open edition at 18 x 24 that costs less. I know that's a big comparison to make, but I really think if we were ever to have something comparable, it would be this.

Funny you should ask. In addition to size, edition numbering, and signature, the special edition one will also have a neat spot gloss effect and MetalFX printing on some of the shiny bits....

Waaaaaay too much color blending for a screenprint. We're doing 500 and $60 (so, same edition size as Team, but slightly higher price for the extra printing costs and shipping two ways to Sam to have signed). Open edition will be $30 $25.

No, that's just worded weird and I don't know why. All new art is shipped from the office in this manner, whether it's going to a domestic or international address. I think it's maybe calling out the basically defunct international store, which isn't having art handled by us because we're not in Europe. It's the same size as the small Saga litho (18x24) so why does it cost so much extra to post?

Maybe, but when you preorder something from BW it says:
Your entire order will be held until this product becomes available
Which leads me to believe they'll send everything in that order together? Also the small version of the Saga litho has a different release date from the special edition.

Dunno, I just though I'd get the Team one without paying almost as much as it costs in shipping. It is on sale at the EU store but I don't trust them to pack it properly, the litho's I've got from them have all arrived damaged, and the kicker was the Crucible litho I got from them was the last one available, so I had to cut the sig off and show them a pic to get a refund as no replacement was available :rant:

We did a big cleaning and sent some of the dead stock to the studios to do with what they wish.... I like having options, but there is sometimes pressure (internally and externally) to keep things from looking "stale".

I think that is per order. I made two separate orders for 2 (added open team to second once shipping was fixed and emailed to cancel the first). I don't think there is a limit on the number of orders you place.

Oh, you're doing it wrong. Find a small local shop and they'll do a much better job than Michael's for a lot less money. I've done some really nice 18 x 24 custom jobs with wide mats and museum glass for $250 to $450.

24 x 36 will be steeper, but at least in the States you can get nice pre-made frames for $60 with glass (or even less with a sale). I have a ton of my art in Aaron Brothers frames, or there's Dick Blick in other parts of the country....

No no, the glass is indeed way more expensive than acrylic. Like I said the guy said that for my Tali giclee, it would be $550 to get her all framed up using 2 lower entry mats, a lower entry frame, and masterpiece acrylic. Had I gone with masterpiece glass, it would have been over $1,000!

I should also clear up though, that my Tali giclee is the C&B beast that measures in at a staggering 41"x26"(inches)! It's not the smaller 18x24" litho from Treehouse.

I should also note that my The Team litho (the Treehouse behemoth) was farmed using a higher end frame and 2 higher end mats. The frame is made of -or wrapped in- faux leather, and the larger mat is made of suede, whilst the smaller mat is made of faux leather. That's partly why it ended up being somewhere in the $350 range, if memory serves.

Regardless, in my experience, custom framing is almost always an expensive endevour. I've gone to mom and pop shops, as well as to the bigger chains, and it's just never fun for the ol' wallet.

I think it's important to remember that when it comes to custom framing, there are endless options; and with those endless options, come endlessly climbing prices! It all depends on what you want. Do you want a gilded frame, brushed metal, double mated, triple mated, suede, ultra clear glass, antique frame, and on and on.

You could spend as little as $150 on a piece,or you could just as easily drop $500 on that same piece! It's all about your budget. I tend to stick to the lower end of the price spectrum; but like I said, even then , it's still not fun.

Do it yourself is a whole other thing, and I'm sure that it's probably the cheapest route to go. I myself, however, have never had the stones to frame a piece. I always let the pros do the work.

And for the record, I have had a few 18x24" treehouse lithos framed (including Citadel and Illusive man among other), and those ended up only costing about $150ish (possibly less,can't remember exactly) So it's not always terribly expensive. But again, those pieces were framed using an econo frame and with no mats at all. I did get masterpiece glass on those though, so that was a plus.

This one is incredibly heavy and the hanging hardware is bolted into the wall studs. I would make sure anything over 50lbs be secured the same way, particularly if your home is older (crumbly drywall!)

Probably wasn't the classiest way to post that pic, didn't mean to detract from yours. I'd love to see the large litho in person, these things never look as good in photos. Mine deserves better lighting than I give it, the liquid gloss coat causes horrendous glare. I have at least removed the prints in super cheap frames from the sides :)

I've had custom made frames for a few lithos and posters for as little as 50 pounds. I really can't justify spending that much more than the cost of the artwork on a frame. Also I genuinely prefer a minimalistic look to my frames, I don't like borders and fancy frames. Just plain black with proper glass, not a fan if acrylic.

Also remember guys that if you plan on leaving any print stored in a tube, make sure to first line the art piece on an acid-free medium like glassine. If you don't first line the art on an archival medium, the tube itself can damage the art. Cardboard contains acid; acid that can be transferred to the art piece, if the art is in direct contact with the tube. The paper that the art is printed on can turn brown or yellow, an it can get brittle too, if you're not careful. I would go so far as to use two layers of glassine for max protection.

The spot gloss treatment is clever and cool and definitely makes it look nicer than your average lithograph. The MetalFX is more subtle than I was led to expect, and while it's certainly a cool looking piece I think you all will like, I was slightly underwhelmed by that bit of printing trickery. So maybe adjust your expectations just a bit before they start showing up....

After some thought, here's my take:

The art itself is a little on the dark side, but it's great. The spot gloss doesn't really add anything to it. The "metal fx" (or whatever) is not noticeable in the slightest. If these features seem like a sales gimmick... well they are. They neither add nor detract, they just made it cost more.
What I personally dislike is seeing duckface male commander Shepherd. This is not my Shep, I didn't think it would bug me but it does.

You can never have a Shepard that will satisfy all, over even the majority of people, because of the customisation options in game. They chose Sheploo (Male Shep modelled after Mark Vanderloo) as the 'canon' or 'official' face of Shepard so we all have to accept that. you knew what was on the litho before purchasing it so I don't see how you can mark it down for that reason. Other points are valid though.

They chose Sheploo (Male Shep modelled after Mark Vanderloo) as the 'canon' or 'official' face of Shepard so we all have to accept that. you knew what was on the litho before purchasing it so I don't see how you can mark it down for that reason. Other points are valid though.

I'm fine with male shep on the print, I just kind of wished they had a secondary option like they had with the n7 day prints. Tis only a personal whine. lol

But yes, the metallic stuff did not turn out to be all that spectacular unfortunately. Its still a really nice piece. It has that movie poster vibe to it. Love the size of it. Can't wait to frame it with my bethesda store prints ~

Yeah I really wanted the Garrus ones the most. I'm thinking of picking up the giant Garrus run that cook & Becker did. I mean its a little over $100 more than the going rate for that litho now so I may as well get the more limited/bigger edition.

I really hope that we get some more character portraits soon. I'd love a nice illusive man print. That would look gorgeous with a metallic finish on his background piece.

Tracking number has told me that it was 'Accepted from Customer' on Friday when it fact it wasn't as my mother in law was home looking after my little man who was sick.

So I guess that's money down the drain, funny thing is awhile ago I recieved a parcel to someone that wasn't my address, I went out of my way to right the wrong of Australia Post and letting them know of the error and they where thankful.

Guess I won't be expecting something like this from someone else one would assume...

I remember there was a Mario statue, and the exclusive was a separate statue together. How can they legally say there's x number of exclusive statues specifiying the primary one being limited, when the exclusive part is something entirely different?

I really want the new Tomb Raider statue, but I'm on the fence buying it because I don't want to support a company with these shenanigans they pull, specifically the 'limited edition' being a separate arm with a shotgun.

I see it as the extra part being limited to 500 seeing as its the same statue. So yes, I will agree that Garrus himself will be at 1500. Same with the Dragonborn edition they did (flame ver). I find it hard for statues like this to sell out in the first place seeing as they tend to run $300+ per item. For $20 extra you get an additional part which I think is nice.

Anyway, I LOVE Garrus and ordered him early that morning right after reading the email. I went ahead and got the exclusive edition. I'm super pumped for him!

Better than a worse-looking bronzed version, right? They have experimented with drastically different limited versions and they haven't worked out. A minor addition is fine with me.

Yeah, EA is redirecting to BioWare (as I'm sure you noticed). Didn't hear about that until after it was done, so not sure if it's a long term plan or if it'll come back. Based on the rate of products going into that store and the lack of anything in the pipeline, I'm guessing it's done....
