Got the Limited Steelbook Edition from Amazon Germany today. Poor packaging, just sealed with cheap shrink foil which damaged the plastic sleeve. Disappointed about that. They will sent me another copy, hopefully in better shape.

Can take some pictures later, if someone wants it.

Also: It is the SAME steelbook like the other one, just with different art on the plastic sleeve. :(

I am not crazy about either edition but I still want to try the game. I do not lose much on games when I buy and play them so i am never worried about scores in that sense.

My favorite game of all time was like a 7 - 7.5.

Just avoid it for the recent price and grab the common limited steelbook edition with much better packaging and a fitting outer sleeve in terms of art and design to the actual steelbook.

Very true. This game I bet is very special in atmosphere and lore (hopefully). But the game play sounds like it sucks. The truth is though, that gameplay is some of Sony's best franchises is not that great... they also choose story and atmosphere/cinematics over gameplay (Uncharted/TLOU).

Personally I do not care much bout reviews anymore. Reviews are done based on each person's taste and personal opinion. One person may like sweet, the other person may not.

If there was a game that dont really peek my interest, what i would do is to turn on Twitch, watch some people play it for about 25-30 mins, then only I would decide if I should buy it.

And remember the fiasco that IGN gave Alien: Isolation a pretty low score? IGN has to retract that review and has someone else to do it all over again.

You're right about the bugs. Things like bugs I listen for in reviews, because they are objectively bad. I figured it out!

The DLC comes in the game case, BUT Amazon gives you another one (so an extra Knights Arsenal).

The Knights Arsenal are the same for both but the one in the CE or PE also give you the soundtrack and BTS Video. The one you got in the e-mail is only the Knights Arsenal and none of the other things.

So essentially they gave you 2 Knights Arsenal packs on accident.

Thanks! Yeah a lot of people who do unboxings you can tell they are not real collectors as they never focus on things. Most of them seem like salesmen who got it free and now are trying to make it so they keep getting them free in the future.

Picked my copy of The Order 1886 CE yesterday at Best Buy. One of the prongs on the fence piece though is totally bent out of place so I'm not able to connect it. I'm really upset, and brought it back to Best Buy today to exchange it for a new one but the store doesn't have anymore and they checked their computer systems and it seems they can't even order me a new one. I'm really pissed as I was counting down for this game super stoked for it and my statue came all borked up. Any ideas of what to do? I'm planning on calling Sony's consumer support line tomorrow but I have a bad feeling I'm gonna be screwed over :( ....

Picked my copy of The Order 1886 CE yesterday at Best Buy. One of the prongs on the fence piece though is totally bent out of place so I'm not able to connect it. I'm really upset, and brought it back to Best Buy today to exchange it for a new one but the store doesn't have anymore and they checked their computer systems and it seems they can't even order me a new one. I'm really pissed as I was counting down for this game super stoked for it and my statue came all borked up. Any ideas of what to do? I'm planning on calling Sony's consumer support line tomorrow but I have a bad feeling I'm gonna be screwed over :( ....

Yeah this is actually what I did. Used the lady's hair dryer on high. Isn't flawlessly in place but it's good enough for my liking. Still kind of upset that it came like that but I'll forgive them.

As far as the game goes, since I feared I'd be returning it I actually played through the whole game last night. Beat it in somewhere between 8 and 9 hours. Not really sure why big name media sites are claiming it to be so short. Didn't really seem bad to me. On top of that I played on Normal and still missed stuff, so I'll certainly be playing through again on Hard and trying to get everything. The game wasn't perfect but I have to agree with you, overall I thought the game was pretty great. The ending was a tad lackluster but I'd actually be pretty excited if some sort of continuation expansion pack or sequel came out. Not sure how far you are, but if you've liked what you've seen already, you'll continue to enjoy it.

Yeah other then the fence it was really nice... especially for a statue that cost like $10. I think people forget that... it was only like $10 after you factor in the steelbook and stickers and DLC (actually after those it was free).

Lol... I did not even look at the vid. Sometimes they are cool and sometimes they are crappy (but never something I would think it worth while in a CE).

What I hate is seeing someone skip the cut scenes when they just got the game just to get on with it. I'm sorry but when someone comes to play a game in my house you're going to listen to the story unless you already saw it because many people have put their hard work into making this game and it's just plain rude to skip it. Sure I've had some games where I didn't want to hear a voice actor because they didn't sound right but I wanted to know the story in it's entirety and admire the work put into the character or what could have been change to improve upon them. Every game is beautiful if played right I just wish now a days they took more time on them like you said "where the developers put there heart and soul into it" then to be pressed my a time limit of it being a year by year released game.:beee:

I was laughing about that yesterday as well. I thought to myself "Surely this 4 minute video is just the first clip of the behind-the-scenes feature", nope, it's the whole thing.

They could have at least included all the behind-the-scenes and making-of features from the Playstation YouTube channel on there. That would've been pretty nice, despite already having seen them all. This 4 minute install is just a joke.

Couldn't put the game down yesterday after it was delivered. Played it on and off all day around my regular responsibilities and finally put it down at Chapter 11. I'm playing through on hard, and some parts are frustrating, but generally it's challenging and rewarding with how fun the weapons are to use. I'm going to finish playing it today, then add up my stream times from http://www.twitch.tv/brandon_storm/ to figure out exactly how much time I put into it.

I love this time period and the world is so well realized that I feel like if I ever got bored of the gameplay or story I could just go sightseeing. Great design.

I'll pop back in here with my (mostly) unbiased review once I'm done. But so far, so good.

Anywho, I just finished the game.

Really liked it.

I can understand the gripes some people/reviewers had with it, but they're blown way-the-fuck out of proportion (subjectively, of course). Definite mountains out of anthills. Every time I came across an issue that someone made a big deal out of, I always thought the same thing, "That's it?"

Took me over 10 hours to beat, without trophy hunting, so anyone worried about length can put those fears to rest. Provided you actually like to play games and not just run through them for the satisfaction of completing them quickly.

Some people complained that the story was too open and too many things were left unanswered. Certainly, the story was not wrapped up in a pretty little bow, but the tale was complete. Seems like there's a whole lot of stories to tell in this universe and rushing to cram them all into one game with absolute closure would be awful. However, if a sequel never comes about, then ask me again how I feel about this. I'm not sure if it's because I read a lot, but complete tales making up larger stories is something I'm totally comfortable with when it comes to narratives. But if reviewers have taught me anything, that puts me in the minority.

The actual game mechanics were very smooth. Shooting felt satisfying, the guns were a lot of fun, cover worked well but I will complain that getting out of cover seemed sticky (as with all cover shooters though).

There was a lot of cinematics, which was jarring at first, but once you got used to the type of marriage between them and gameplay, they were great.

I don't have to say much about the graphics. They speak for themselves.

The story was fantastic. Twists and turns, really great characters, but I regret that some I really liked weren't featured enough. But as I said, that's a tale for another time perhaps.

The soundtrack by Jason Graves was phenomenal. That guy is talented as hell.

As I said in another post, the world is so well realized that you can really feel immersed in it. You can definitely act the tourist within the game world and be perfectly entertained. I recommend everyone take some time to check out any hospital/medical areas you come across. The detail is fantastic. Also, any sewer/underground places you come across feel especially real as well.

Overall I recommend this game wholeheartedly. Fans of Victorian London, cool coats, and monsters (like me) will especially appreciate it.

To be fair it is almost identical to the final version. The only real noticeable difference is the logo is much bigger on that prototype one. Plus all these companies have terms of agreement check boxes upon checkout which absolve them of any and all responsibilities they can think of.

On a separate note I just finished the game last night and I really enjoyed it - I do understand where some of the criticism comes from and it does feel a bit like an amazingly long length game teaser rather than a full game but the story and characters are great and visually a pleasure to play so I just hope there's more coming form this team :v:

Yeah I'm not overly worried thanks to OneLetter sharing that there will be more artbooks available in the near future. It definitely sucks but I guess I can't complain too much. I still got to do PAX and now my injury is giving me more time to rest then anything. Between those two not sure I would have been able to pay for the book when it came out anyways. Congrats to all of you who did get in on the book the first time. Excited to hear what you all think about it.

Good deal, but I feel this will be even cheaper shortly. Here in Canada the vanilla version of the game is already down to $35.

Both editions were in the lightning deals 2 days ago for 39,99 and 74,99$. So there are some potential for even lower prices. ;)

Yeah even though I already have the CE I ordered the Premium edition during the flash sale. Would have been arriving today, but I'm an idiot and ordered it to my house instead of my current location at school so I won't even see it for another month or so :banghead:

They've been having a lot of trouble keeping stuff available. The Art of Homeworld has been MIA for weeks now with no updates and I hope they can do a better job with The Order 1886.

Really frustrating. I'd imagine they are losing sales this way.

See it a few hours earlier but thought it should be sold by Amazon, so I didn't buy it. Just googled it after you posted here and found $59.99 is the MSRP.

For an artbook the price is high. But I still ordered it because I love this game!

It is a legit seller. The Blackwater Archives is printed and designed by Bluecanvas. If you click on the Buy Option link in Amazon, you will see the Bluecanvas as seller.
