Well the reason your not getting an error is because your using the Greek site and the error is on the UK site

Its the EMEA (Europe middle east and Africa site) but mainly just Europe, nearly everything ships from Germany
In the address bar, it should say something like en-uk (English - UK) de-de (German - Germany)
Fr-fr(Francis - France)
And that's how you know which country you are accessing

You're spot on - look at the returns for the 'Uplay Exclusive' that wasn't.... People bought an edition JUST because it looked like an exclusive steel

Yeah, what Letrico said! When we click on a link to order it, we can't even see the item. It just ends up going to the boring US site which doesn't allow us to order them. If I recall, even spoofing the IP doesn't allow the ordering cuz they won't ship to the US - all around farse is what it is. :suicide:

I can confirm this, even dlc and digital releases are region free so far. Plus, the AC Season Pass from the US marketplace should also work with the pal version of the game. (it worked for me with AC 'IV black flag)

My thought was that maybe they intentionally dropped it to lure people into buying the other one at full price as they were content with the profit margin on the 2 combined? As it was, I got 2 of them for the price of 1/3 of one... because it cost Amazon more to ship the damaged box one back to the UK than my purchase price ;)

Hey guys.

I've been trying to order the Assassin's Creed: Unity Guillotine edition for a few weeks now and I've been having a frustratingly impossible time trying to do so.

I finally found it on the UPlay Store here http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en_IE/pd/ThemeID.8605700/productID.304115400

But, for some reason, the page keeps redirecting to the homepage of the store and I'm unable to locate it in their search engine.

Now, I can and have stopped the browser from redirecting and gotten the page up all fine and dandy, but clicking 'Add to Cart' once again redirects me to the homepage and nothing is in my Cart.

I've seen a lot of people on here having ordered their editions just fine, so if I can get some help that'd be wonderful because I've been at this for weeks with no luck.

However, if I click 'Add to Cart' it takes me to the UPlay Store Homepage instead of anywhere else and there's nothing in my cart even though there should be.

DLC is still locked to the games region, So American dlc will only work with US version. I tried to see if dlc worked on a game from another region with the free dlc from Shadow of Mordor the dlc will not install with out the digital or disc for that region.

This isn't a blanket rule
Depends who the publisher is and what platform you are on,
UBisoft have their own uplay activation for ULC like this, so i expect it to be region free as it probably will be ULC and not DLC

But I believe that rogue tells the templar story from abstergo's point of view and that unity tells the templar story from the assassin point of view

Amazon UK was weird about it for me. (If it's the big Initiate edition guide you mean.)
A while back they changed the release date to 28th of October but now I've got a delivery estimate of "Friday, 21 November 2014 - Monday, 24 November 2014" and it's also now showing as Currently Unavailable. (And to add even more confusion, Game say it'll be released on the 28th of November.)

Who knows, maybe there wasn't enough interest to make it a viable product, as in they've got to this point, checked the preorder numbers and realised they wouldn't make much, if anything on doing a run of them.
I mean, I got in fast when it was announced and ordered at £50 which is really pushing it but trying to charge its actual price of £75 for it is way over the top imo, so realistically I don't know how many people would be willing to spend that much on a book, scroll and plastic cup.

Also, maybe it'll just sound stupid and paranoid, but I'm finding it quite bizarre how it's so close to release and yet all we still have officially is the mock-up picture of how it'll look. Even outside official stuff, I think I've only seen a couple of pictures and that was of the plain white prototype chalice.
Now, to me, surely if you're trying to sell a big premium thing, especially as it's one of the first editions like this to be released, you'd want to do at least even a basic level of advertising, not just announcing it two months back then having total radio silence on it.

For once in the AC series it works for me cuz I haven't played AC4 yet, so I'll be able to go from AC3 straight into Rogue and then play AC4 and then U :thumb:

Ok so I played for a couple of hours last night and..... I'm really enjoying it!!

Ok so it has some tech issues - you can hardly miss them - floated on a roof for a while - and yes there's frame rate issues but, fundamentally, the environment is staggering and unbelievable interactive, it's visually superior to any previous AC game and the movement is vastly improved - wait til you try descending without having to hit circle every item you want to drop down.... :thumb:

And, personally, I love that it is less prescriptive - I don't want to be told exactly where to go next or have to do everything in an entirely linear fashion - I like wandering a little to see how it all unfolds. The level of interaction with people and surroundings is vastly better - you don't just climb facades any more you can enter and explore a lot of them. Some of the new gameplay techniques are better too as is combat

I could go on but what I'm trying to say is that I am not a tech geek who is completely hung up on the graphics etc (and I get why it would do the heads in of people like that) but what kills a game for me is if it continually freezes and falls over or is impossible to control the way you should be able to and Unity so far hasn't done any of this for me.

One thing that bugs me is the pressure developers put on themselves, having announced a launch date, to develop to that release date to the point where, in the end they compromise on their initial intentions. I would love to see games fully developed then release programmes planned when it's almost complete to cut out this initial launch problem crap.

Then maybe we'd all be raving about the visual quality, improved gameplay and the hugely ambitious level of environment interaction rather than bemoaning the crass technical failings.....

Also, the self-indictment quote on that yahoo finance article is pretty rough - I definitely don't understand why they thought NOT delaying it further was a good idea? I could go on but what I'm trying to say is that I am not a tech geek who is completely hung up on the graphics etc (and I get why it would do the heads in of people like that) but what kills a game for me is if it continually freezes and falls over or is impossible to control the way you should be able to and Unity so far hasn't done any of this for me.

One thing that bugs me is the pressure developers put on themselves, having announced a launch date, to develop to that release date to the point where, in the end they compromise on their initial intentions. I would love to see games fully developed then release programmes planned when it's almost complete to cut out this initial launch problem crap.

Then maybe we'd all be raving about the visual quality, improved gameplay and the hugely ambitious level of environment interaction rather than bemoaning the crass technical failings.....

You can play it with a resolution of 1080p and 60 FPS only on PC.

If you play it on PS4 or Xboxone the resolution is 900p and 30 FPS that is not next generation graphics for me and that is why I can't enjoy that game.

I sort of feel bad for you my friend... I guess to me graphics aren't really that important. I don't care if it feels "next gen" or not, I'm more in it for the the gameplay and storyline. Sad to see some people not being able to enjoy something cuz its not pretty.

Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE eye-candy when it comes to games and such, but out of all the things I must have in a game, graphics is second to last only to a winning soundtrack (which I also love, but don't grade games too hard if its not amazing to the audiophiles out there).

I am playing on PS4 and have been staggered by the quality of the light, the texture on materials, the faces (which are almost photorealistic), shadows on buildings as you climb with the light behind you, mirrors.. I could go on but I think it's impressive regardless - good enough for me to enjoy the game :)

I did have a couple of people walking half embedded in the street but failed to get Arno raging against the machine halfway up a steeple - better luck tonight I hope... ;)

if Arno says I guess I'll wait here then and I quickly get bored and start wandering around and find the next thing to do then I figure either I won't be able to do anything until I've waited for whatever needs to happen as the game won't let me or I'll do something more interesting for a while even if I end up going back to complete the first bit....

I finally got my guillotine this morning :/ One day delayed. But fiance picked up Rogue for me so I will be playing rogue until they patch things up in Unity. I am actually surprised at how smooth rogue is compare to black flag. Black flag was 30fps locked and Rogue can actually reach 60fps at times but it feels great. Texture is a little bit lacking but the controls fel great.

Is anybody else having trouble getting their Unite content?
I got 3 codes for in-game stuff which gave me 4 things - the mission, a spear, trousers (the previous two being the guard pack) and the sabre.

However I don't have the Heavy Pack and when I try to download the comic and soundtrack I get an error that sounds odd (bearing in mind with what the error says that I just got the e-mail today. (Of course, it could possibly be a bug with their countdown timer being at a negative time until it's unlocked but that's just speculation.)):

Aaand another problem...
The codes from the Arno and Elise figures still don't work, keeps telling me that they aren't valid.

I really hate all the codes with Ubisoft, Black Flag was just as bad, if not worse because some of them wouldn't give items for next gen consoles, which is useful when you only have a next gen version.

EDIT: Bugger this. I have to leave for work in less than an hour and now I have to install an 882.2MB update on day 1.
And the trouble is that I wouldn't bother but then I remembered Black Flag being a pain in the arse where because you don't have the update you can't connect to any online features and so you can't access the shit-ton of codes that you've wasted all the time trying to gather, figure out what you're missing, what'll work and then enter in various bloody places like some kind of damned scavenger hunt.
Next year for a preorder bonus they should give you a spreadsheet of all the different DLCs so you know what redeems where, what's what, why you wouldn't have XYZ, etc.

I think the box is made out of balsa wood or something similar. It's not plastic, but also not a solid wood piece.

AC never comes with the season pass. Wish it did though.
