Geezer I'm sorted.. (smiles) one will turn up in a few days and the other in two weeks, been on team PS far to long to jump ship to XBoX but thanks for the info. This is a long hall game 10 years is their plan with this game too some this sounds impossible to get your head around but it's not. How long has COD been out? And when are they going to stop making it? My issue is not with the game (bar closing down online servers) but will I be interested in a year from now.

Got my Amazon order in today -- was nervous opening the box because there was a lot of "sliding" sounds and a lot of room in the box, but amazingly enough Amazon actually put in a bunch of packing paper AND bubble wrapped the box!! I've never seen them do that before, so kudos to them! :clap:

The bubble wrap is from the producers I think. I received 2 PS4 édition from Micromania (French Gamestop) and it was the shipping box from bungie and the 2 CE were bubble wrap and well tucked in.
When the xbox one édition I got from Amazon had the same bubble wrap but nothing to Keep them from sliding

Enh, not really too sure. The little book is really good quality, the steelbook is decent enough, but not sure how I feel about the "ghost" yet -- haven't played with it at all, but its just kinda "meh" to me. With a GCU purchase making it $120 I'd say yes, but I wasn't able to get mine at BB this time, so not really sure if the $150 was worth everything you get honestly. I like it, but just not screaming "WOW WHAT A BARGAIN" if you catch my drift?

I would say it was good value for money if you live in the US. The rest of the world got had on the pricing of this CE though. :( My local GAME has a XB1 Ghost Ed though it has a little damage. Holding out hoping nobody will buy it and will get a price slash. lol one can hope. :P

Hard to compare. One is a plastic figure that lights up and has motion sensing voice overs. The other is a resin statue of high quality. As far as value the Pandemic was better probably. I think the ghost is okay but I would have rather had a Fallen Captain statue. The ghost is nicely made though.

Did Oceania had it's own Ghost Edition for PS4/PS3/XONE/X360? I need to know it for database purposes. I wasnt sure, PS3 and X360 are US only, but PS4 and XONE? I dont know any of the Oceania shops, only mightyape so I dont have anything to check it on.

Yeah, was gonna say that its usually all dry - but figured you meant if some condensation or liquid or something got into said perforated package THEN it would leak and destroy the world... I was going under that assumption ;)

Also, has anyone seen a "legitimate" review yet of Destiny? Did Bungie issue some sort of worldwide press embargo on reviews or something because I can't find a meaningful review on the game itself anywhere - usually these things are out weeks before the game comes out. Even IF they just turned on the servers, you'd think there'd be some sort of write-ups somewhere?

Good news though, they said that they would still ship the regular game to me for free or I can contact them and let them turn my game into a $50 voucher at their store. There will not be a real review for some time. has nothing to do with embargo, it has to do with the huge scale of the game and the fact they want to see most of it before giving it a score.

I appreciate the sentiments. I did eventually today. Actually had to drive 35 miles to go get it on my lunch break. I also called another Gamestop and they have one on hold for a reserve but the guy never picked it up. Now I gotta convince the gf if it's worth having one unopened. Idk if it's worth it.

I was expecting the worst from gamestop shipping/packaging but they did a really really good job on this one. Never seen them double up on bubble wrap and still surround the item with additional air pillows before. I'm still in disbelief, but really happy to have a copy that arrived in perfect shape!

Interesting - that's the first actual review of the game I've seen. I expected to see a ton of them with the same caveat this one had "our opinion may change after new raids and such are released, but here's our opinion NOW".

I played KZ SF and Destiny feels nothing like that to me other then it being a shooter. Feels like Halo with powers, floating, and loot. But from what i have played it feels like you give up on the immersive in your face story parts though, but you can't have it all I suppose (plus I am basing this on the first couple hours so the story may get more engaging... but it seems the MMO mission in ad out style seems to detract you).

This is from first hand experience. BUT there are a ton of areas i couldnt pass due to enemie levels being overpowered, so maybe thats where the fun lies. Idk. Either way im still having fun with the game. If i had to score it now, id give it a 7.5-8 on what merits are in place at this time.

I just experienced this while looking around for spinmetal on Earth. I would look out and think "oh this looks like a cool hidden path" only for the game to instantly kill me when I went towards it. It's simple things like this that make you wonder how good the game could have been. Other issues off the top of my head:

-No in-game clan system. Bungie.net clan system is confusing and terrible. I haven't seen 1 clan online yet, that should tell you something Bungie.
-Loot is too random, and thus not very rewarding. Especially in pvp - I'm tired of raging at my garbage teammates, only to see them get rewarded for going 1-20 with a strange coin or rare engram.
-No proximity chat
-Shotgun is op in pvp
-Terrible story, I just ignore it lol.
-Not enough mission variety - need more missions to be interrupted with public events, more missions like "the sword of corta" where you get some sort of cool new weapon to use, etc.

game matchmaking reminds me of Guildwars- gather at town, start a quest, get matched up with other players, back to town again etc... i suspect that is why Bungie refused to call it an MMO game, because strictly, it isn't. it is not a persistent world.

but item drops seems to be inspired by diablo - loot is player specific

and guns and gears, exploration, rpg elements, like borderlands

gameplay - looks and feels like halo.... space guy in helmet, high jumps, ammo count display on rifles etc.

so yea, 'best' of everything, like a shakespearean play LOL

From my point of view and what I think the game is missing in order to tailor to my needs, I would have to say (unless I missed it) they need a way to allow players trade with each other. The second is the same as what everyone else stated, the story is a little lacking but I think that is because I have a higher expectation from Bungie.

Overall, I rather enjoy the game due to being able to jump in/jump out with people with ease and the kills feel satisfying. For what it's worth it's got me playing through multiple times and that's all I care about.

They don't sell them separately, you get a "random" one from every retailer (all 3 are at each). You can tell which one you have though by looking at the top of the cover and tell whichever color is there (red = hunter, yellow = warlock, dark = Titan).

Yeah, I was surprised to hear it too, but apparently there's some sort of ratio that they consider the "average" user to return items. He got an email or a letter or something (don't recall which he said) that showed him his return ratio compared to the "average" user and it was too high so they forbid him from shopping anymore. Guess it makes sense if a customer is costing you more money than "they're worth", but still seemed a bit harsh to me. It has totally kept me from purchasing "like new" items as opposed to "new" on Amazon though.

I'm really impressed by this edition, wish that Telstra would hurry up with my NBN installation so I can start playing destiny again.

The whole net thing in Australia is a con, why when I came here in 2000 I had cable Internet from Telstra to me thats fiber optics, which is out side on the box which is fiber optics . So you see where I'm coming from. The shit was fast and it was unlimited to. Then after 8 months they capped it to 1GB and charged me the same price because ADSL came out.
As Telstra had me in a long arse contract I was stuck for a long time they wanted people to move to the copper as it can be more controlled as in cap the speed to 512k which is where most of the country is at.
Damn I think the slowest copper ADSL 2+ speed in the UK is 2.5 - 5MB hell if you are a business here you can pay for ADSL 2+ 20MB copper right now speed.
The NBN is a con to me if you can get Foxtel TV you can get cable Internet and to me is just as go as "NBN" when it comes to speed. They say it's to much to do lie, it will take till 2020 lie, they sacked the Spanish geezer and dropped 3 Mill on him so they could make the deal to make billion's with tax payers coin and even if it gets here they are going to double dip and charge the consumer top coin just to have fast speed.
Thing is they are going to get away with the con to as the G owns 51% last I knew. I think the big rail job in the UK will be done and dusted before the NBN is even at 30% completion.

I talked with a rep last night and he told me they are not able to issue full refund if I don't return the item, and the partial refund is 20% at most, so I get another $8 back... Better than nothing right?

I guess it's just different for everyone. I ended up getting a 40% refund which I thought was very generous of amazon. Can't complain. :D

I have to post the packaging for my Ghost Edition on Amazon got me to with no issues but if it did they would have done the same for me it's down to your track record I have had one thing wrong in all the years and that was just a Blu ray that was meant to be all regions but it was not Sotheby's geezer just said keep it and gave me back all me coin. the Amazon UK not so much if you do have to send back it has to be registered and give proof of how much it cost to return to get that back to.

People are way too obsessed with the lootcave. You get maybe 1 legendary per hour which will probably be a blue anyways. People should be spending their time improving at pvp.

Here's my guide to lvl 29/30 (depending on raid luck), with little grinding:

1. Get yourself to crucible or vanguard rank 2 (crucible is quicker and more fun imo). Do the crucible bounties everyday and it will take you a couple days tops. I'm almost rank 7.

2. Buy yourself some legendary gear with your marks. Then do the weekly's for strange coins and daily's + a public event each day (destinypublicevents.com) for ascendant shards. Use your shards to level up your legendary armour to get more light, and save up your strange coins (you'll probably get some from pvp as well).

3. Once Friday comes along find Xur and buy the exotic piece of gear that Xur is selling for your class. You only need 13 coins to get one. You can also use your motes for an exotic engram, but it might not be for your class. If you're just short, try the lootcave as you can get strange coins from blue or purple engrams. Dismantle the legendary piece you have replaced and if you still have any blue armour replace it with purple (except your mark/cloak/warlock thing).

4. Now you're probably around level 25-27 depending on upgrades. Now you will want to play the raid to get raid gear which has as much light as exotics. With 1 piece of raid gear you can get to level 29, you'll need 3 for 30. Rewards are given out after each stage of the raid, so you don't need to worry about beating it. I got raid gauntlets from beating the super easy first stage.

He is funny in his Francis persona... although the voice rubs the wrong way (irritates for some reason).

He is right on the loot crap, it is bad. Although when I hit level 20 I did my first MP game (I know, I was patient... did not want to get rolled over, plus i did not want to over level myself for the story)... and got an Exotic for a reward in my first MP match. Tat was awesome, and the feeling of getting a cool new weapon or armor is addicting... like Diablo.

Yeah the combat is not too difficult. But there are a lot of times I have to run and hid for a bit... so it is not as easy as people say. I think the small groups roll over easy so people associate just that part.
