SOLARISJAPAN.COM Best Game export site?

I was just wondering how many of you have dealt with Solaris Japan when it comes to your Japanese collecting needs?..the guy who runs the place "Jacob" is simply incredible!!!...i was recently let down by a few of the major players when it came to exporting games/collectors editions from Japan, until i heard of SolarisJapan.com i would like right messages and leave notes with the usual export sites,..some of them would respond "rest assured, we understand your collecting needs, we will send you mint ding free game package with extra padding"..only to have my hopes dashed when it arrives all dinged which i know could have been avoided..but this Jacob Guy, not only assured me like everyone else, he will do his best to send me the best mint package..HE SENDS ME HI-RES PHOTOS TO MY E-MAIL OF ALL THE SIDES OF THE GAME PACKAGE ASKING ME FOR MY "APPROVAL" AND DESCRIBING ANY "BLEMISHES" OR "ARTIFACTS" BEFORE HE SENDS IT OUT!!!..and if i reject it, he sends it back to his supplier and asks for another one!..to me this level of service from a Japan export site is incredible!! and i figured it was worth mentioning, that SOLARISJAPAN goes to bat for collectors like that..LOL..Sorry for the informerical..LOL..i'm just super stoked, that this for me is a first..no take it or leave it attitude..more like.."which box do you want?..here's what we have in stock.(accompanied with hi-res photos)..thats what you call customer service!!! so if others are OCD about box condition and are sealed collectors, and like to import from JAPAN..i recommend this company over others for sure and by far!!! (of course you would have to contact him before hand and request this, otherwise he will presumbly ship randomly like every one else)

LOL..NO..lol.i'm serious..i was ordering some Kingdom hearts stuff..and this company was sending me pics of the package to see if it's acceptable to me..and i was a bit excited, that they were willing to do that!

i collect sealed, and i'm really OCD about the package condition..i can't stand the site of dings etc..so everyone else kinda blows me off..but this company..actually spends time taking pics and sending them out..lol..thats why i thought they were worth a mention.

I'll definitely be sure to check them out then.

I personally tend to go with AmiAmi for my imports thank to their great prices but it's usually a gamble (like most import sites) when it comes to getting the package in decent condition. It's really refreshing to see a site go above and beyond like that for their customers.

Nope, never heard of 'em. I'll check 'em out though. I'm always leery about contacting any of these sites when having them get me something though. Usually if its rare enough for me to contact them I'd much rather ask a person on this site than one of these companies.

Used solarisjapan a few times and they mark packages as a gift with a slightly lower price that still seems realistic for the content.

NB! I used lowest shipping method (no tracking), but after payment they offered tracking for extra ¥450 to me - that's funny, because in first time the only shipping method with tracking was 3 times higher than lowest one.

i've ordered from solaris japan 5 times this year..and everything arrived perfect..but i always make it a point to contact them BEFORE hand in their little PM box on the bottom corner of the website, telling them that i need mint boxes and "safe" packaging..but you have to INFORM them IMMEDIATELY after placing order..they always DOUBLEBOX for me, and are SELECTIVE before sending to ensure it's a nice minty copy..i am sorry to hear others experiences are not the same.

I have ordered from Japan about 7 years and Japanese shops/sellers are always top packers (never had any problems or damaged items).
Copy of book what they sent; isn't brand new, as I ordered - it missing OBI and wasn't in plastic bag :(

i can't vouch for anyone else when it comes to solarisjapan..but that guy "Jacob".is always super cool towards me..again who am i to him?..nothing but a stranger customer he will never see on the other side of the planet..but he responds like a friend..and is a collector himself..and time and time again goes out of his way to ensure the package is as mint as possible..but i make it clear to him beforehand..and leave notes etc..and follow up reminder messages etc...but so far he has not let me down on the 4 orders i've placed through him this year..and i will continue to use him/solarisjapan until otherwise.

I've used CDJapan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/) a couple of times for game orders and they have been flawless, can't recommend them enough.
