so i dont know how, but i was able to buy 2 ps4 anniversary edition. IM SO HAPPY. i spent several minutes refreshing and what not. but in the end i got 2 =D

for some reason i saw an ebay listing that had people bidding 15 000 USD
on the console. now, i had a question.... does anyone understand why so much ? i know its limited but is it possible to sell that much as soon as i get my 2 consoles in? i was thinking of selling one as soon as i get them and hold on to my other console.

i think if i sell one while its hot ill get top dollar. anyone else have any idea on how much it will be worth later on the months/years??

Oh, the salt in this thread is thick... I understand though, it was very frustrating grabbing these consoles yesterday, so I would be pretty upset if I wasted all that time and didn't nab one.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing you are though. I'm not sure why people are so upset about the idea of seeing these as an investment/collector's item. They made 12,300 and numbered each one individually -- tis to be expected...no?

Unfortunately, I have no experience with the increasing value of these sort of limited consoles. But, if you find out anything on your own, please post back. I'd be interested to hear.

I think I'm just gonna hang on to mine for a while and see what happens.

in a nutshell, there are "thousands" of these....i would suspect of the 12,300 units...at least 4,000 will be up on ebay..and a couple of years from now, when there's a console redesign..like a 2nd generation model, and it comes in some splashy color, again this console's price will take another hit...i think when the dust settles..this console will trade hands around the $1,000 mark for the first year or two..but then end up a couple of years down the road for around $700 or so...a few years ago, there was this internal company SEGA high quality figurine..it was EMPLOYEE/CONTEST only...each one was numbered and the total number was 1000 units worldwide..at first on ebay for the first 2 years, they were selling for around $1,200 a piece since it was ultra limited and not for sale, and this is just 1000 made compared to 12,300...3 months ago i picked up that SEGA figurine brand new sealed for $460 ..i expect same thing gonna happen here, once the hype dies down.

Normally 12300 isn't that limited, but it is considering the MASSIVE advertising this thing got. Every single gaming site everywhere was reporting on it, hype was at insane levels. Judging by twitter, comments on articles and youtube, etc. there are tons of non-collectors who bought these and lots of people using it as an excuse to buy a PS4. Therefore I hypothesize that if you hold on to an unopened/sealed version it will go up in value as time goes on. Also 4000 on ebay? unless there are TONS of people who bought more than 1, I highly doubt that.

Even tho theres 12300 made. Theres only a few thousand for each region. Ive seen plenty unboxings, and with that each region has different slight variations. The UK has the european plug. America has our 3 prong...you get the picture. My point is that lets say 4000 each region. 4k for americas, 4k for europe, and 4k for japan. It makes it actually more limited per region. Soo in actuallity, theres only 4100 of these floating around depending where youre from

i really believe this anniversary edition will settle at around $1000 sometime next year after christmas..since the japan edition with japanese text box and plug etc..is far more rare, then the western US one..which got the biggest allotment..if NIN-NIN can sell it for $1400 and turn a big profit, then the far more available US version..which ebay will see hundreds once delivery is made, will settled at 1,000..my prediction..and when a 2nd console revision is unveiled..(i suspect with vita tv built inside the unit) i expect the price to be around $800 for the 20th anniversary edition..just my guess.

One of the unusual sights Jon and I saw PSX was during the queue process to order one of the 20th anniversary consoles. Seeing grown men begging people in line to sell their wristband to purchase one of the elusive 20th anniversary consoles was a weird sight to behold. Even sadder is that a few of those people were developers that never had a chance at one since the event locked them out of being eligible of even getting the wristband required to buy one. Which was pretty screwed up...

Anyway, among the lucky people to haggle his way to a console was a developer from Iron Galaxy. To make the moment more memorable, there was a photo taken of the dev literally bowing before the guy selling his console and kissing his shoes. You'd think the guy won the lottery or something...so yeah, the guy that sold his console was coincidentally, Markman of Madcatz...I facepalmed pretty hard at that too. :D

Either enough people complained or they did it after realizing how BS it was, but from what people are reporting on neogaf, all multiple console orders were cancelled. Now people on reddit are staring at their monitors, smacking F5 on sony's ebay store hoping they repost the extras.

Yeah, I'm curious to hear more about the camera stand too. I'm starting to get the impression that the stand might be a US and Canada exclusive. I don't think the Japanese sets come with them. Rapister confirmed that the Asia ones don't. A few users on NeoGAF confirmed that the UK sets don't have them either.

EDIT: Just asked a Canadian seller and he said that his set from shop.ca includes the stand.

Seems like it will settle for US Dollars 800/- around after Christmas and holidays season. Saw many resellers selling on eBay for 1200 but no buyers around in that price......

I was informed about the £19.94 PS4s around 8:20pm but I didn't believe it and was on my way home. After I got ready to leave it was already too late, all 94 allocated were filled up at 10:10pm that evening and wristbands handed out a little later.

I should have went to queue as they handed out wristbands to those that queued up for the Thursday and Friday allocations.

I had about 3-4 different opportunities to get one for full price but didn't so felt really bad and was kicking myself. So I had to accept it and wait for the draw the following week where you get your chance online.

I was fortunate enough to get one on Monday, my advantage was that the page loaded for me and I was able to see the GAME link had a typo. Otherwise I would be crying all week trying to get one.

They look amazing and so relieved to finally own one. :D

For warranty purposes, they are labelled to the voltage of the region to adhere some law to sell the product.

All ps4 are equipped with universal 100-240v power supply. Usa ps4 is written 100-110v but it works with Australia's 220v. They even wrote on their website it does not support other voltage but actually it does.

Actually, I thought I saw a picture of the label on a US 20th Anniversary PS4 (model CUH-1115A A20) that said it was rated at 110 - 240V. I just wish I could find it. I think it was in an eBay auction unfortunately.

I thought so that it could be like that, that labelling the voltage depending on region is just for fulfillment law requirements or even to notice customers what voltage they should connect their console to.

Producing different models with different voltage would just increase the manufacturing cost plus they would need to know in advance how many pieces from total of 12300 they intend to sell to which region. A bit nonsense :no:

So it seems that only obstacle is playing DVD and Blu-ray discs across the regions since they are locked.

Pretty sure the PS4 has a universal power supply. I think the labels and all does not state that but only says the regions voltage just to meet electrical standards or specifications.

This is the same with the PS3

i got mine from game too. i haven't opened it but i imagine that if the bluray movies you have are region then it should play fine.

The reason I ask is if they are region locked to the EU it theoretically makes the UK batch far rarer than the vast majority sold in the US. I can't even get a definitive answer from GAME themselves so I guess it needs to be tested.

There are more than 3 regions.

I've heard the following

- 18 in each of these countries - Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

- 700ish UK

- 500 France (Sold in one store in Paris). I would also expect Germany, Spain & Italy to get the same allocation roughly

Mine is 10694, when I first saw it I didn't like it but actually it's quite decent.

It has '94' at the end which is the year of the PS release and 1+0+6+9+4 totals '20' which is the year of the anniversary. :D
