There are two variations of the Until Dawn steelbook. It's hard to see in the pic, but the one on the right has a different and darker shade of green and black. Really obvious if you see them in person.

The spine is black there are three bethesda logos on the back and inside the case fallout 76 logo is where the disc is instead of the world map and the whole case seems to be a bit bigger then the US one.

Yeah indeed. They are locking an exclusive steelbook that hasn't been up for sale behind a lottery and you are only allowed to buy two "tickets" (blind boxes) and there's at least four possible steelbooks (5 if they're also including Celeste).

I will try to buy 2 and hope for Saturday Morning RPG and Kingdom New Lands, since I'm missing those steelbooks. I bought the CE's of Pixeljunk and that Battle Chef because of the steelbooks. I'm hoping that they will sell the steelbooks separately in the future, but they probably prefer selling you the $90 CE with all sorts of lame goodies that I don't want. :P

I have already added the best buy Crackdown 3 steelbook, the other one is available on EBGames.com.au

I will wait about adding this steelbook to the list because at the moment the artwork of the DMC 5 steelbook looks the same like the GEO Pre-Order steelbook of DMC 5 but thank you for that hint.

Yeah, my Asia Until Dawn steel is definitely darker in color than my EU one. But no idea if it's because of a paint error for a particular batch or if it was indeed a different make. I do know that the Asia version of MLB 15 The Show used darker color as well compared to NA and EU versions, so it is something that's happened before in that region.

I can see that the right one is i bit lighter of a blue at least when looking at the spine pic.
Torment Tides of Numenera is another one just like these i got one from the us and a different one from europe. Someone else should get both to confirm and i don't know which comes from where anymore.

I can take a pict of the one i have when i get home if you want, but if the difference is just a slight variation in color, it may not be perceptible in a pict taken with my might powerful Huawey P8 :rotf:

I went to buy Nascar heat 4 at eb games and seen it wasn't a steelbook looked at unboxing videos to see the same packaging and in one video i had seen someone saying they messaged 704 games they replied saying the steelbook was canceled.

NFS Heat game uk steelbook was also available in Poland most likely as a steelbook edition as it came bundled with the game separately, The steelbook came sealed for those that prefer it.

Left one is EU, right one is US. US is a bit darker all around. Insides are fairly similar.

Do we have a similar thread for sleeves? For example

Monster Hunter World Steelbook came with a sleeve in the Amazon/GER edition but came without it if you got it through Bestbuy Preorder in the US.

Nier blackbox didn't have a sleeve, limited steelbook edition did

Order 1886 Steelbook came with two different sleeves depending on where you were in the EU (I am of course talking about the design, not the language on the sleeve. That list would be impossible to maintain)

Apparently the Watch Dogs Legion Ultimate Edition Steelbook isn't exclusive to US but also came as a pre-order bonus from UK purchase. I think it's the same one.

Edit: Apparently there are 2 variants of the Ultimate Edition as well, one comes with this steelbook, one looks like the CE steelbook, really weird!

What about the Playstation Plus one for example? That also doesn't have a a disc slot. I am honestly indifferent to the situation but if I had to make a choice I would probably vote to keep it for now. I think the difference between the manga ones and this one is that the game came first and the novel followed, whereas for manga/movies it is almost always the other way around. But it is a very thin line so I wouldn't be mad if it was removed.

These variations between territories keep happening..I am wondering why!? that is!? I mean is it intentional for some internal company reason!? I collected this color varieties for one or two years but I stopped... a different spine text or artwork is something else but this is something I personally don’t care any longer

Technically I am on the same boat however here is the thing. Normally I don't have any other ones that have regional color difference. I purchased the German one because the US one had slight damage (I mean it's BestBuy what do you expect) and I was hoping to swap the damaged plate. Can't really do that now...

Even if you don't collect the color variants, it still imposes issues on you... which is just sad...

Top is US bottom is EU you can see that one has a white outside the other a silver finish and in person you will notice some reflections from cars and background are a bit different

If it's a US release, Scanavo manufactures most of them in the US. Whereas almost all of the ones that are released in the EU are made in Denmark. This has been going on for a while. Obviously for some unknown reason, the two factories can not coordinate the color hue. I suggest we remove all the tonally different dublicates and don't explicitly track these going forward. If anybody wants to collect these variants, I recommend buying a copy from both regions when applicable as there will almost certainly be small differences.

Totally right!!! You know I am an absolutely crazy Steelbook collector but this is really stupid. For example Torment: Tides of Numenera: you have to look very carefully. There is more difference if one Steelbook is near a window with sun compared to one in a box... for me it’s worth collection if the spine is different or the artwork - kingdom hearts, death stranding or crysis 1 pc. But this is nonsense
