Square Enix has announced that on March 24th, it will release a remake of Final Fantasy IV and it's sequel, The After Years for the PSP.

And Square Enix will also be offering a limited edition bundle for this release through it's Japanese online store, which includes an official guide book, an original soundtrack and an original book. The bundle also comes in a box designed around a Yoshitaka Amano illustration.

Square has done something similar to this before with the Tactics Ogre limited edition, which was also sold exclusively through its online store in Japan. Expect high prices for this edition on eBay.

Looks nice I wonder if European or N. American will get the same treatment. I hope SE will release it for their fans.

If you go by Square Enix's past record of releasing PSP special editions, Europe will get something nice (soundtrack + artbook), while us North Americans will get shafted. But whatever, there is still the option to import at least. :D

Indeed they released some nice PsP CE's lately on the EU market. Can't complain !

On a sidenote, do you think its possible to order the FF IV bundle directly from their store if you live in Europe?
Tried once to create an account but ditn't get far & I also mailed them but still awaiting reply :beee:

^ Ja, please let us know what response you received via email. I've also attempted to create an account with no such luck. I would very much prefer to order directly from the S-E Japanese store to circumvent inflated eBay prices..

Okay, bad new ^^

Basicly they send me this:
The Secretariat of Square Enix.
Square Enix is accepting e-STORE Delivery to Japan only.
Mailed to overseas (EMS) are excluded.
However, this is Square Enix's e-STORE
Not the Contact Center. Please note.

Wel maybe I'm stupid but "mailing overseas are excluded" does that mean they will or wont ship by EMS ?

That's a confusing email and I'm guessing whoever wrote it isn't all that great with English. But it sounds like no delivery overseas. Since the EMS is an international shipping organization, it appears they are saying EMS delivery would be excluded.

Nonetheless, I will have to do a bit more research..

OK guys, I may have found a website to directly order this limited edition from.

http://www.nin-nin-game.fr/japanese-import-psp-brand-new-softs/2597-final-fantasy-iv-complete-collection-ultimate-pack-en.html

The only problem? It costs $175 / £112.30 / 135,30 € .

Eh, I doubt the PAL version will be as elaborate, rather you guys are likely to get the standard SE premium PSP edition - soundtrack, artbook, nice box.

Well I guess it's better to have some form of limited edition than none at all.

Also, NCSX is now taking pre-orders for this edition at the price of $170.

That's crazy - $170 + delivery. No thanks

Yup, seems like a $70 mark-up, which is a bit steep. But I'm such a FF freak, that I will definitely be procuring this bitch.

I guess the value will rise with such a unique edition, so should be worth it.

Don't forget that you will have pay import taxes becuase they will declare the full value.

Expect total to be $200+.

No, not really. NCSX is based in New York and includes import levies in the final price. And since I live within the U.S. and outside of New York state, no additional taxes will be tacked on. Just $170 + shipping.

In that case you have a serious advantage to the other Euro collectors.

I don't necessarily think there's an advantage, since there's the option to buy from the Nin-Nin Game website, and I believe that company is based in France. And they're essentially charging the same price as NCSX.

Just to be clear, the original price for this Ultimate Edition is around $115 in Japan, so I think buying from Nin-Nin (at $175) would include import taxes for Europeans as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Either way, $170+ is close enough to $200, so you're basically right.

EDIT_ Here's the Nin-Nin website link again, which may be preferable for Europeans - http://www.nin-nin-game.fr/import-japon-psp-jeux-neufs/2597-final-fantasy-4-complete-collection-ultimate-pack-fr.html

OK, small update for U.S. gamers - FFIV CC now has a listing on Amazon.com with a release date of April 19th for $29.99. It appears to be no special edition release for U.S. gamers once again, though. :(

Can't say I'm not surprised, mainly because the USA seem to get little from Square-Enix in relation to special editions.

Mandingo

Yeah, but I can't complain, really, because Square Enix will release FFIV CC here just a month after the Japanese get it.

I was expecting a summer release, so it's good to see it arrive earlier.

EDIT_ Square Enix has confirmed an April 19th release for FFIV CC for Europe! And given their past releases for the PSP, there's a good chance PAL regions will get a nice premium pack to boot!

Nothing confirmed for U.S. yet, just the Amazon listing, which isn't official. Here's the news link on the European release:

EDIT II - Confirmed for April 19th in NA now, but just a standard release. Info from NA website - http://na.square-enix.com/ff4complete/

Has anyone ever pre-order from nin-nin game? If so, do they charge you imediately or on shipping date??

Thanks

Yes- because they use Paypal, funds are taken on order and not on dispatch.

Also if your were trying to order this game, the pre-orders have been closed.
