Sniper Ghost Warrior is getting two limited edition releases, available for pre-order exclusively at game4game.at in Austria and will be released on 28th of April 2011. Thankfully shipping is worldwide.

The first is a super limited Survivor Edition which is restricted to 200 units, it includes:


Original ammo box from Army stocks with a branded logo of the Sniper title (8.5 X 17.5 X 27 cm)

Light stick (10cm)

Real camouflage face paint ( Both black and green paint encased in a metal pack with internal mirror)

Bandana ? Woodland style

Special Edition of sniper ghost warrior in slip case packaging

Got my CE today, they are all numbered! Finally a real rare collectors edition. :)

I only got a different gamebox, it has the dog tag and postcards which should be in the other version. I guess there has been made a mistake, think this is the special edition game not the survivor edition. Box doesn't mention any special or survivor edition, only it has some extra's.

The gamesleeve is made of cardboard and the boxart doesn't say special edition or anything. I emailed the staff from the webshop and got this answer:

Das ist alles korrekt. Ursprünglich war von Ubisoft ein Steelbook für die Survivor Edition geplant. Leider wurde das aus zeitlichen Gründen wieder gestrichen. Stattdessen liegt jeder Survivor Edition automatisch die Special Edition des Spiels bei.

My german isn't the best but what I understand from their reply is there was a lack of time so Ubisoft decided to cancel the steelcase version for the Survivor editions and put in the more regular special edition.

What limited number did you guys receive? I got number 200. :D

Shipping to Holland was around 20 euro.

I got mine earlier. It was all bumped, dented, and scratched up. But for once I will accept it. Lol. :D

Seems that each of these is going to be slightly different in appearance, and I assume each is uniquely sprayed and bashed about. I bet mine has more rust on than yours! ;)

My Sniper logo on the side is a bit smudged :(



I was sligghtly disappointed at not receiving the SteelBook, but if Ubisoft cancelled it then fair enough. However, I do think that this should've been reflected in the final price, and there should've been some kind of concession for it not including the Steelook, especially as they clearly show one on the website and it was one of the two reasons I opted to buy it (the other being the fact that it was limited to 200 pieces)


One other disappointing feature is the fact that the game is entirely German. I assumed the game would be multilingual, but turns out it's not, so I will have to track down an English copy of the game to make it more "complete"

Under a hundred, but only just, give or take a few. I honestly can't remember the exact number, and can't be bothered to open it all up again and check.

I presume the dog tag is included inside the Special Edition of the game?


Just think - These ammo cases have probably been used for years and were probably once used in conflicts such as Iraq or Afghanistan. These cases have clearly been used and abused for many years by squaddies, and are now sitting on our collection shelves!

Still, a nice way to recycle unwanted metal, and is probably more relevant to the game than most of the tat we receive in CE's these days...

To find the numbers in stock, you simply increase the quantity in the basket until it states there is not enough stock.

An example. Civ 5 http://www.game4game.at/shop/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5974.

Add it to the basket and then change it to 16, it will tell you there is not enough stock. Then change it to 15.

This trick works for most online stores.

I actually thought it would suck, but when i looked at some footage i kinda thought it looks fun, i like the idea of everyone running around taking pot shots at each other plus im a bit of a "clint eastwood" with a sniper rifle:notworthy:

As for the actual CE, this beats crappy art book meh, dlc meh anyday...its quirky and it means something and thats what i like.

Yea, the game didn't get very good reviews, and has been out on the X360 for quite some time as well. It looks fun, but it's full of the types who like to run around on COD with a sniper rifle quick-scoping everyone, and anyone who can't play like that will soon find it a not very enjoyable experience

It's also not a very good time for PS3 games to be released due to the PSN being down. The game's already been delayed enough, and now when it's eventually released, you can't even play it online... No doubt anyone who was interested in this would've already bought this on Xbox, especially considering Xbox Live is a far greater populated online service compared to the PSN

Editions are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. I think it was telling that, for an edition of only 200, that it was not sold out prior to release.

The seller has most likely just swapped the PS3 game with an Xbox copy. Pretty easily done. Either that, or they incorrectly listed it in the wrong section
