Square-Enix have announced that the two Limited Edition for Final Fantasy Xiii-2 will be the Colletor's Edition and Crystal Edition.

The Collector's Edition will include the following:


Unique packaging

Composer selected soundtrack: CD with selection of music tracks from the game, specially chosen by the composers

Artwork book "The Art of Final Fantasy XIII-2", featuringartwork across the production.

6 collectable postcards, featuring high quality CG artwork of main characters in the game.

I was about to say "*facepalm* are they kidding me again? same shit as last time" Until i saw that the Crystal Edition has the full soundtrack. If It's the limited edition of the soundtrack, then maybe it's somehow worth buying, but still £80 is a lot for no exclusive content except some t-shirt I could probably order to make better myself.

The novella should be available in all editions, or at least in crystal.

you're already getting the game, the steelbook is just an added bonus if you pre-order...seems a great deal, sure the extra content for £20 more is debatable (though overall I'd suggest worth it for a fan) but the pre-order bonus from game makes it a good deal without doubt IMHO

Yeah, I thought that too, unfortunately, but i still have hope it's the LE soundtrack, the way they emphasized the fact that it has premium digipak packaging. like it was something special confuses me. Then again they may mean it as in opposition to the poor cardboard sleeve the demo soundtrack has.
But the Type-0 CE has the limited soundtrack. I know it's Japan but still...something that is £80 should have at least that much.

I have checked with my bank but they tell me it is an issue with the merchant and has nothing to do with them. In this case I am trying to ship the game to a forwarder within UK itself, billing address being Indian.

It's early days, don't get so worried now. Wait for what the US?NA may be receiving. The first XIII sold exceptionally well in that region, so SE may actually treat you nicely guys this time ;) Who know, the US may get the steelbook as a standard for the first press like they did for XII!?!

The Nordic Edition sounds more like an 'exclusive' for the Scandinavian regions [kinda like the exclusive editions that Poland gets]. I believe the 'official' 3rd edition will be available to all the usual PAL regions as it was announced last weekend from Australia that there will be 3 editions available. For all we know, it could the a custom console edition for the PAL region that Japan is already getting.

And if you were to pre-order the Crystal Edition from GAME.UK, they wouldn't ship it outside of the UK if it weights over 1kg anyway. And there is a slight chance with that happening due to the overall weight of the contents [4 music cd's, game disc, art book, tshirt, etc].

Just thought I'd interject (as a noobie).

The problem seems to be with the standard editions for both PS3 and 360.
The limited and crystal edition's order will place no problem, but the standard edition of each will bring up errors on both Game/Gamestation's sites.

Game will say there's a problem with the card and Gamestation will not let you delete items from your cart as well as remove your card and address details on checkout (which will appear straight back if you refresh the cart).

I spent ages trying to get an order for the standard edition to no avail. I have tried to make Game/Gamestation aware but they simply aren't interested over the phone or on their twitter feed.

I doubt that. Everyone and their mother are getting the steelbooks (except America), even those that don't even want it. There will be plenty of them on ebay, i guess, much like the preorder packs of Prince of Persia and the first Assassin's Creed.

Called Game directly and the advisor tried ordering it for me direct but he too ran into problems when it reached the payment stage, then asked him if the bonus was available in store and he said no online only. so maybe everyone order a limited edition for now or u may miss out. can always return it for a full refund as long as you dont open the game in store.

Wow, so yesterday i walked in to my local multimedia store and you can't imagine my surprise when i look to the Xbox360 shelf and i see a couple of beautiful, pink, lined up steel-books of FFXIII-2, lying just between collector's editions of Batman and ACR!

Lol, the thing is, I asked the distributor and they said they will be adding the steelbooks only (and not the rest) and only to the standard edition of the game (which seemed questionable, because why the hell, but I asked two different people and they said the same thing, so I didn't feel like arguing further and said f*ck you, then), so I would never guess they would be just lying in the nearest physical store.

So I rushed to the checkout as if someone were to buy every copy out before me, and it's indeed the full pack.

Now I'm considering sending an email to the question guy again and say they are f*cking retarded.

I bit the bullet and ordered the german 360 crystal edition... i more wanted the extras than the game because I have two copies pre ordered here in NA... one is the collector's edition, and one is regular... but the UK version i got was PS3 and could be played on my system... xbox is region locked.

cost is 99 Euros.... killer 200 canadian... i wonder if my cousins in germany would want the game???
if anyone knows of where to get a ps3 version keep this thread going and I will check it every so often until release date... i could always cancel my german pre order

Final Fantasy XIII was region free for the Xbox 360 and was also playable on a ntsc console. So I don't see any reason why FF XIII-2 should not be region free.

The weight between the Steelbook and Soundtrack seems a little odd??
There are 4 cd's in its own package vs a steelbook with art cards and mini novel. I can't see the soundtrack being only a little heavier??
Hopefully you're off by 131g ;) And I think they only count the weight of the item/s before they pack it into a parcel box. Also, the Dead Rising 2 CE [the one with the large Zombie figure] was quite large and bulky and yet had no problem getting that sent down here.

They normally ship outside of the UK if the items or your order doesn't exceed the 1kg weight. It actually notes that on their site. Whenever I make a large order with multiple items, they email me suggesting that I split my order into more than one. :s

For the Soundtrack I was thinking they would not use the normal 4 CD Jewel case, instead they would use a cardboard Digi-Pak design. I guess if they do use the normal jewel case then it would at least 100 g extra.

Judging by the promo pics, I think they are using a digipak for the cd's like they've done for the original XIII OST of the yesteryear. To be honest, I thought the package as a whole looked smaller than I expected when I saw the pics a few days ago.

@RyT That's sucks mate, and if they did fulfill the order, they probably would have sent the wrong format instead!! :S That's how bad they can get with international orders.

But even if got it forwarded to you, you'd be paying more than the rrp [in total] if you ordered it locally!

May as well get it at Ozgameshop for $165 using the discount code if you want the Xbox360 version. ;)

Which format did you order?
After seeing the size of the package for the Crystal Edition, surely they'll pack that in a cardboard box instead of a large bubble wrap envelope?? Although, there's a chance it could still get squashed, but that could happen from any other site. I haven't had a horrific experience from them before.

ps3.. oh well I received my CE from them crushed before so yeah.. They put in large padded envelops for large items. That was how my sharpshooter ps3 attachment was sent.. somehow they never use box.
