Hi there

There has been a huge amount of steelbooks that have come as pre-order bonuses or simply by themselves.

Has anyone purchased the games for them, either sealed copies or open copies to put inside. I have usually purchased sealed standard games myself to go along side the steelbook.

But is that the right choice, when I can put a cheap used copy to put in the steelbook itself.

I think I might do this for older games because I can get used copies of the game really cheap.

It's just I have a few steelbooks now but don't like them without games, seems like they are missing something.

Personally i think i'd have to buy new, no matter what condition they in I dont think I could put a used game in a new steelbook for collecting purposes, i'd get better peace of mind with new

I was worried someone would say something like that.

I will just wait for the price of the sealed game to drop, the exception being these collection steelbook like the recent Call of duty collection.

I won't be buying those game sealed.

lol sorry to say it,the only two collection steelbooks i have are the COD one and the two assassins creed ones,I actually have enough copies already to fill them all (except i need another ac1) from my own collection, so i know all the copies are mint

just put an empty disc inside to filled it up.

don't like to spend more just for the sake of filling in the collection steelbook.

I'm in the process of filling my empty steelbooks right now, I'm just hunting around ebay for 99p start auctions and hoping I can nab them all as cheap as possible, I mean, I'm not going to use the disc, but I'd rather the correct disc was in the case, and that I had the manual to go with it  I'm not bothered if they're second hand, after all - we all buy editions off each other and off ebay, and unless they're still sealed, they're technically second hand too, yes? :) xx

LOL - not sure about that, many members only collect the steel books themselves.

I already have the games for some steelbooks, these are ones I play.

However for games I don't like or play, don't have the game. I don't like missing content, so feel it's missing something all the time.

Sure am :rotf: I've put like 10-15 in my watch list, so I can nab them as cheap as possible. Not too bothered if I don't right now, as the steels are for my Christmas, but I'll hopefully get them filled one day :P xx

try hunting just the manual on ebay? :lmao:

another cheap method - slot a piece of paper in.

I just keep them empty.
I mean, even if I could get them for cheap, I'd rather spend that extra money on another game that I'd enjoy. Just not a fan of buying the exact same game twice.
Too many games out there I still need to buy!

I tend to keep mine empty if it came empty, and with the original contents if it didn't. I see them as decorations rather than as game cases. Plus normal 360/PS3 cases are more practical for games that I would play every now and then.
