For just the games, yes, PC are always cheaper than the console versions.
For whatever reason...the top of the line editions seem to be all the same price now whether you get the PC or console editions! :S That mainly account for big name publishers though, not always the case if it's a smaller publisher or not a triple A game.

PS3 and Xbox360 games/CE's are always priced the same no matter.

Yeah, that's why they develop the games on the 360 and port them over. That's why I always get my multi-platform titles on the 360...

But Freedom is AU$20 cheaper for the PC for us here. :) [same thing for Animus last year].

As for the figure...I don't think Ubi have ever released a resin or polyresin statue before...and the fact that they're calling it a 'figure' would most likely mean it's made of plastic of some sort?! It'd also be cheaper to manufacture, ergo, why the price isn't higher than it is!

i seriously doubt the US is getting anything besides the steelbook promo, for AC Revelations, all we got was added first print dlc from gamestop and that's it..i think after Assassins Creed Brotherhood Collectors editions BOMBED in the US, even including the gamestop exclusive harliquin edition, i think US UBI will forgoe big tier, full blown collectors editions, even today, we can find Assassins Creed Brotherhood collectors edition languishing on shelves in select retailers, even with big markdowns..so i think they will skip over the US, just like they did with revelations.

I prefer the fake wood design in the other promo pics.

The Medallion is official as it's been announced by Ubisoft, as for the pendant...well, it's never been officially confirmed by Ubisoft :S But who knows what will become of it??

i SPECIFICALLY remember last fall reading a transcript of a call placed by Gamestop to it's shareholders, talking about as to why there only releasing ACR "Siganture" Disk Pre-Order bonus DLC, instead of a full blown out collectors edition, ...gamestop said..they LOST money on AC BRO JACK IN THE BOX exclusive..sales were BELOW expectations, and they were actually WELL BELOW Expectations, so they will decline in the future any proper collectors edition from Ubisoft, because of shelfspace issue and sales issues..same thing Toys R Us said, they will pressure Ubisoft to NOT issue Assassins Creed Collectors due to incurring loses on the sales....so as of FALL 2011..TOYS R US AND GAMESTOP SAID THEY WILL ACTIVELY DISCOURAGE UBISOFT FROM BRINGING TO MARKET ASSASSINS CREED COLLECTORS BOXES...but maybe they had a change of heart?..i still believe it's NOT happening...but it's ONLY MY OPINION AND WHAT I READ FROM FINANCE REPORTS IN RESPECT TO SHAREHOLDERS/INVESTORS ETC.

Good. You have your opinion/prediction, Gamestop/ToysRUs have theirs, stockholders are pessimistic and I have my own...and in the end, it's really up to Ubisoft.

The Driver San Francisco CE bombed, Far Cry 2 CE didn't do great either, so I see no reason why they should skip one for AC3 when this is supposedly the finale of the "trilogy"/series :S

Publishers such as SEGA seem to churn out many crap and unnecessary CEs for games such as Alien vs Predator which seem to do very badly on the market [albeit also crap quality imo]. I don't know who's backing them but SEGA obviously have their own decisions made.

At least someone has already claimed that they've seen a comment posted by some official Ubisoft rep stating that there will be a CE for AC3 for the US, that to me is a good indication. :)

yes, again,,.it's only my OPINION and "Hear say"..but what i forgot to mention was, that UBISOFT DID WANT TO RELEASE A US COLLECTORS EDITION FOR ASSASSINS CREED REVELATIONS FOR THE US, but there was FIERCE RESISTANCE from GAMESTOP and TOYS R US,..even threatening NOT to stock it..that's why UBISOFT was "pressured" to back down from offering a true collectors edition, so to appease the fans, they came up with a "signature edition"..which takes no shelfspace..GAMESTOP and TOYS R US were fuming,..they still had majority of inventory of ACBRO, and ubisoft wanted to push another 1 on them, meaning no one would want the older one, even though they still had tons of of them in warehouses..the hype did'nt live up to expectations in the US, again UBISOFT WAS GOING TO RELEASE A US VERSION OF ACR COLLECTORS, But major retailers thru a big fit.

imo, I thought the Codex Edition was lacklustre, it's made of cheap plastic and the coloring wasn't authentic looking, ala God of War 3 Pandora's Box. I don't even remember what was included inside, but many of my peers were far more interested in the Jack in a Box editions you guys got and most of us had imported one. I thought it had more entertainment than a plastic codex box.

I'm really hoping for a huge AC3 LE for the US, I'm anticipating it and would like to get hold of one please :)

Good. You have your opinion/prediction, Gamestop/ToysRUs have theirs, stockholders are pessimistic and I have my own...and in the end, it's really up to Ubisoft.

The Driver San Francisco CE bombed, Far Cry 2 CE didn't do great either, so I see no reason why they should skip one for AC3 when this is supposedly the finale of the "trilogy"/series :S

Publishers such as SEGA seem to churn out many crap and unnecessary CEs for games such as Alien vs Predator which seem to do very badly on the market [albeit also crap quality imo]. I don't know who's backing them but SEGA obviously have their own decisions made.

At least someone has already claimed that they've seen a comment posted by some official Ubisoft rep stating that there will be a CE for AC3 for the US, that to me is a good indication. :)


This "was" meant to be the last AC but not anymore. The AC series became so much of a cash cow that they are just going to keep going with it. The final one was meant to be with just Desmond but I wouldn't be expecting that for a while yet.

Red Journal contains some story info, some artwork, I think it might be similar to Codex Edition, but it definitely has thicker pages.

Those things are very hard to find,so far its been about 6 months of searching on & off but no luck. If your finding it hard to find in Russia,looks like i might be way out of luck anywhere else.
I think these were released/distributed by Akella for the PC & thats about the most info i have found. No offence but in Russia there wasnt any real big market for collectors editions so there werent very many of anything ever released but,slowly this is changing from what i understand

Yes things are changing slowly, we used to have like 300 to 500 CE's released, so they are all super limited. But Revelations last year got a print of 3000, and even that would be considered very low if you take the worldwide market into account.

FYI, the Codex Box Edition for Brotherhood have used cheap plastic material for all the contents with supposed realism. I thought the promo pics were deceiving especially with the box itself. The

"leather" book has a molded plastic cover.

i bet this will be nothing more than separate pieces bundled together, in a generic cardboard box, or fastened together with plastic, only because they have to rely on a distributer, and for a single merchant to sell this edition, it is cost prohibitive, to ramp up a production line to make a very small volume relatively speaking custom packaging, and still lock in the price, that has already been quoted to the public..no chance of commerative packaging..just separate pieces in 1 box..all companies do that, with there "exclusives"..like Namco did and so did Nintendo.

You are incorrect, the carte blanches are AFAIK artwork created by renowned artist inspired by assassins creed.

So the art-prints and outer box will be exclusive (which was expected, encyclopedia is sold seperately as is the novel).

Its the same as the one from hmv, apparently they do not have WW exclusive. This one is from a german store called 'expert' (see top left corner), i do not know if hmv one comes with slipcover.

This Freedom Edition looks like one of real jewels between CE's. Beatiful piece of art for good price (I have preordered PC version of FE + bear tooth necklace, postage free for 72 euro). Imagine adding Connor's medallion there, will be absolutly wonderful. :)

the official "digital" Promo Pics show the Join or Die Box like as if it's made of wood..i still overall definitely like the way it turned out...the boxart for Join or Die is fantastic!...just appears Ubisoft exaggerates in there Promo Pics..even the Freedom edition Promo Pic, the Box looks wider and bigger, then the real deal..which is narrower and taller looking...overall still a great package and a must have!..btw, how many people own both Xbox360 and PS3 but got the PS3 for the 60 mins extra gameplay, and howmany who only have Xbox360 but are big fans of AC are upset by the PS3 extra hour?..or does'it not bother you at all?.

Try and improve your unboxing by not having super close ups
And stop the camera from shaking and moving

My George washington book from my UK Join or Die edition has a production error and i was wondering if this was done intentionally as secret pages or wether the pages where not alligned and cur properly in assemley and production the pages i have noticed are attatched are
