This may sound weird to some, but I was wondering if at all press kits can be graded. I know they are not available in retail and sent to a select few, yet they are also collectors items.

Also, I was wondering I can get my Uncharted 2: fortune hunter edition graded?

Cheers :)

Yes they can be graded but not under sealed games grading, under Qualified Grading Scale only.

This is when an item never came sealed and as such the box and content are inspected and given a grade based on their condition, instead of a seal.

See hear: http://www.vggrader.com/faq.aspx#loose

Edit: yes Uncharted 2 Fortune hunter edition can be graded under QGS

My next question, is it worth grading FHE? Will it make any price difference?

It will make a price difference, but it wont be worth. It will be too expensive to ship it there and back, and grading it. There are also other risks, such as it getting damaged during transit, or even worst, lost.

If you are in the US, that is a different story, but I dont think it is worth it for you!

If I can manage to catch a friend who is going to the US and sent it via him, then it can be possible. Although that edition is huge, so v difficult to find a volunteer. I am going there myself this September for around 2 months (if business goes ok), so might take it with me.

Cheers Jugo :)

How long are you going there for Mos? and how much time it takes for grading? This would be the first time I am grading so got no idea. Hopefully it should be quick enough for you to get it back on your way?

Cheers :)

I assume it will cost you $300+ if all 3 sides equal to more than 60"

As jug said the cost is quite high for a quick turn around and for something of this size.

However you don't need to get it collected, you can get it graded and then sent back to you in the UK. So can go for a cheaper slower grading process.

This way it is actually insured if it get damaged, lost or confiscated by Customs.

Of course, the shipping costs back to you are going to be very high.

If i owned the FHU i wouldnt dare to take the risk to get it lost or damaged in the mail.

Also VGA is ripoff, unless you really want to sell. But since this item is allready really expensive, i dont think people will be willing to pay alot more for a vga graded one.

Hey guys, can across this post so I thought I would join to add my info. The hunters edition can be graded on standard tier as it was never factory sealed. Im 100% sure on this because I own a F hunters ed and sent it in a year ago. VGA 90+ it cost me around $400 with all shipping, fees and UV case. Im in San Diego, CA more.....not sure press kits can be graded at all I have over 50 graded games and search the web often on this topic and never seen a press kit sealed graded.

Thanks friends. I would agree that its too much of a risk to take by sending FHE to VGA. Well, I am almost on verge of completing my Uncharted collection (except mainly the UC1 drakes ring and Folio) and once complete will put all pics my collection (I got OCD for completing things ) :D

Here are a couple of pics :)

it should be noted that the game guide is not needed for grading as it didn't come "inside" I asked them to include the guide but in no way is it apart of the 90 grading. all my games are framed with the guide if its available so i had them case it

Might sound a trivial question, but would the grading have been cheaper if the guide had not been intserted in the Case considering the fact that it significantly increased the size of the case?

Also, a normal FHE can gor anywhere from $3000 - $4500 on ebay, how much would you put the value of a 90+ graded FHE?

PS: I have 2 FHEs now (1 is in the US with a friend) and am seriously considering to get 1 graded. Thanks :)

It's important to know that the uncharted 2 FHE can only be graded under Qualified and not normal grading, it is considerably easier to get a 90 on these types of grading.

Does this type of grading hold any value then? The grading, as Baja_fish suggested would cost around $400 if done within the US?

Also, I didnt want the grading done earlier since I had just 1 FHE and once graded, the contents would be seal locked inside, and I wont be able to display the purba dagger in my studyroom showcase, which I might like to in the future.

Now after having 2, I want to keep 1 in perfect condition, in UV protected, seal and also mint, and wont mind it kept sealed and hence considering grading.

But last think I want is to grade an item and then see its value fall / not appreciate significantly. Still any guesses how much a graded FHE would fetch?

well as long as it is 85+ but hopefully 90 then price will increase.

They do have value because many VGA buyers are not aware of what they are getting, as it becomes more and more common you may have issues.

The same problem with normal grading, if there are many copies with 85 then prices falls and because it is far easier to get 90 or more with qualified then this might be a issue for you.

$300 grading plus the incredibly cost of shipping to UK which is going to be £100+ at least.
