Not so many for Blu-Ray so far, but there are quite a lot of Dvd CE's
Here's just a few of the nicer UK Blu-Ray CE's:
9 (Hardback)
Alien Quadrilogy (Light-up Alien egg)
Apocalype Now (DigiPak)
Batman Begins (Holographic cover)
Blade Runner (Briefcase)
Casino Royale (DigiPak)
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind - 30th Anniversary ltimate Edition (DigiPak)
Dirty Dancing - Keepsake Edition (DigiPak)
Fast & Furious 1-5 (Wheel)
Inception (Briefcase)
Inglourious Basterds (Slipcover & artbook)
Jurassic Park (Statue)
Jurassic Park (Tin)
Lion King Trilogy (Wooden box)
Reservoir Dogs (Petrol can tin)
Scarface (Cigar box)
Senna (Model F1 car)
Terminator 2: Jugement Day (Exoskeleton)
Terminator Salvation (Exoskeleton)
Terminator Salvation (Mask)
The Dark Knight (Mask)
This Is Spinal Tap (Marshall amp)
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (Box set)
Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen (Bumblebee)
Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (Megatron)
Tron / Tron Legacy (Megabit cube)
Watchmen (Mask)
There's a lot of other releases that call themselves Collector's Editions, but they tend to be just a regular release with nothing more than a cardboard slipcover. There's also a handful of other box sets (such as Alien Quadrilogy, Back To The Future, Star Wars, or The Lord Of The Rings Extended Trilogy)

Oh yes, Tron Legacy. I forgot about that one! The worst CE I have ever has the misfortune to ever buy! I wrote such a bad review for it on the PLAY.com site:
http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/17751755/Tron-Legacy-Limited-Collector-Edition/ProductReviews.html
I'll add it to the list above though ;)
Not sure which Avatar one you're referring to. There was the PLAY.com exclusive SteelBook, which came with a book strapped to the back of it, and then there was the Extended Edition which was released later, which wasn't a CE per se, but rather just a cardboard slipcover - Unless you know of another CE that I am unaware of?

No, there was a CE for it, it was numbered :)

It's quite large, maybe about the size of the Warhammer Space Marines CE? xx

lol, not that large, it's about the same size as the Back to the Future tin CE :D
And then you have the French statue edition which I missed out on when it was on sale. :S
And how long until they can release the 3D Bluray to the general pubic?
I'm hoping for The Hunger Games to be released in steelbook, currently reading the novel ^_^

Oh, is this the one with the SeniType film cell inside? I think I recall this CE, but probably passed it up because of it's ridiculous price. Same goes for the Senna CE, which I didn't bother with as it was far too expensive!

I don't think anyone knows that except for James Cameron! Pretty bad though, considering this is perhaps the one 3D movie most people would want to watch in 3D, yet the one that has yet to be released as a 3D Blu-Ray...
I have a massive 55" 3D LED screen. I've had it for a year, but never watched a 3D film on it yet. The only two I have Lion King 3D and Immortals 3D (SteelBook), but I really want to experience Avatar in 3D without having to go to the cinema to see it! Maybe they're holding out so the cinemas can still show it in 3D, as it always seems to sell out whenever they bring it back.

I'm sure it will be. This film will have a massive Dvd / Blu-Ray release, and I'm sure they'll promote it as much as they can based on the success of the film at the box office

I did some googling, and it appears that Panasonic's contract with Avatar 3D had expired back in Feb. So now it can be widely sold at retail and online shops whenever FOX brings it out on the market?! Hopefully by year's end as some retailers have already placed it on their site such as amazon.de http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B007QU5GXS?ie=UTF8&tag=bluray11-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=1638&creative=6742&creativeASIN=B007QU5GXS And with that I hope they also bring out a CE and steelbook with it....again!
Yeah, can't wait for Hunger Games, it'll be out in August, though I'm hoping for a CE with a steelbook, I mainly want a steelie though <3

How dare you sir!! [Downton Abbey expression] In today's standards it's more the other way round now as pretty all those you've list are on bluray and at many occasions can be found with two CE's of a sort...and then you get exclusive international CE's as well! :2cool:
ahem, how dare you!...forget one of the most eccentric movie CE....http://www.gearlover.com/images/ultimate-matrix-collection-bluray12.JPG

I can get you pics if you're interested?
The Inglourious Basterds CE is nothing special really - Just a regular Amaray and artbook slipped inside a horizontal cardboard sleeve
The Reservoir Dogs petrol can is probably one of the more unique CE's out there, and was also released as a Dvd CE as well (I have both!).
I'll try and get you pics of these when I get a chance

Going by the CE's I have in my collection so far, I would say that I still own more for Dvd than I do Blu-Ray. But the format is still young, and this list also doesn't include SteelBooks. Personally, I'm still waiting for Event Horizon, The Fly, and Rocky Horror Picture Show to be released with a better CE than the Dvd releases had...

I believe that this was a Japanese release. I only listed the UK CE's ;)

Yes. It's about the same size as the Apocalypse Now and Close Encounters CE's. Would have been so much nicer if it had been a DigiPak though, or a tin cover

My breaking bad, I read the thread title and generalised it to CE's worldwide :S
Did the UK happen to get the Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle Edition? I know France, Germany and the US did. And did you also get all the Steelbooks for all the HP films? I think Germany has and so did Canada.

Not your fault. I suppose it could be, as themidlandmaster is in Australia, but you quoted my post which was primarily a list of UK Blu-Ray CE's

I can't recall whether we got it for Blu-Ray or not. I know there was a luggage case (HP 1-5?), but can't remember whether this was for Blu-Ray or just Dvd. I passed it up as I didn't want an incomplete set. I also recall there being a replica wizard's wand set, but I have an idea that it was a North American CE
I know we're due the 31 disc Wizard's Collection in September though:

No. This I am 100% sure about. Which is a shame, as these look amazing in their presentation case!

This was released in the U.K - sold at Harrods only (300 of them i believe) and also across europe, was available at Amazon.fr. It was a 1-8 blu ray CE with elder wand replica

Ahha, that's the badger!
I knew it was rare in this country, and knew there was a reason why I didn't own it. That would explain why

Yeh apparently they had some members of the cast (smaller roles) sign the copies that were for sale
so what is really rare is an unsigned UK version
