Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary

Prompts me to question, do you think there will be some sort of 25th anniversary edition coming? If so, what do you reckon should be included in this?

Personally, a possible collab of all FF games up to now, accompanied by soundtracks for all, artwork and a statue featuring all the main lead characters grouped on some mountain with the first final fantasy logo mounted on it (think halo reach). But anything close the the SF 25th anniversary set would be lovely :thumb:

Ooh, I hope they bring out a collection of all the games together, packaged in a nice big CE. I've yet to play all of the games, so would be the perfect opportunity for me to do so :D xx

There is suppose to something but is mostly limited to Japan.

What the rest of the world gets is anyone guess.

I know that all the Distant worlds concerts are going to have extra content this year.

Who is going to Distant Worlds this year? I booked my tickets but they haven't arrived yet. Very excited! :D

I'm sure they'll have plenty of merchandise for sale there, including the playing cards which I saw on ebay for silly money and silly postage.

There's one in Adelaide later this year, which I only just found out about :S
But I don't think I'll be going, hopefully Melbourne will be next, perhaps in 2013 or 2014??

I am going as well hopefully - dont have a ticket yet but 1-2 week before the event people who cant make it sell the tickets sometimes below RRP so i am going to chance it

Last year i did the same and some people were desperate to sell their tickets and recoup cost so sold at RRP, hopefully same this year

Fair enough, if I knew they were coming to London I would have done the same!

Gutted I missed it but feel much better as they're back for the 25th Anniversary so it'll be much better. I have seen Distant Worlds - Returning Home so that bridged the gap.

If they do anything, it'll be for the Japanese market

If we get anything over here, we might be lucky to get a compilation release of the first six games for a handheld, or maybe a HD compilation of FFX, FFX-2, and FFXII (I think the latter is more likely)


Because the Final Fantasy games span many formats over four decades, I think it would be unrealistic for there to be a complete discography box set. I also think that if they were to attempt any such thing, it would most likely end up being a PlayStation exclusive, and even then it would be incomplete...

You also have to realise that the first six games (aside from FFIII) have been released and re-released countless times over the last decade, most of which have had remakes. Do we really need these games re-releasing again so soon?

I'd say they're more likely to put the digital download versions on sale to celebrate


In a perfect world, they'd be announcing a FFVII remake at this year's E3, and also say that they've been working on it for the last five years it total secrecy! That would be the world's best kept secret if that were true!

Not only that, it'll force all their previous products to lose their value or am I wrong?

Whatever it is it'll be expensive, you'll be able to pre order it, probably a remake or port, it will have boring extras in the box like postcards and the worlds worst paperback art book of already released pictures, it will have DLC and then 6 months later it will be re-released with all the DLC included.

Because it's Square Enix and that's how things roll these days

I went to the concert last year and they said that next year being the anniversary they should include something special so that's probably something to look out for. We decided not to go again though it's not going to be that much different. Same with the Zelda one.

Hi guys, been a whilst since I've posted on here. I hope you've all been well. :)

Distant Worlds is coming to London this Friday, who here is going and who still needs a ticket? I might have one spare, depending if my friend can afford to go or not.
