Edit all are the same website titan exclusive product page for ac3 LE in numbered art book
I believe these are printed to order so it unknown how they will keep them limited
The only way I can think of is to order 500 and see how many you get and assume that if you get less then 490 then they are truly limited to 500

So basically what this means, is that they could have send me a brick and they would not be able to refund me.

Suffice to say, i will never order anything at ubisoft again (or by creditcard from my dad so i can chargeback)

4. Eligibility

5. Limitation

5.1. The PayPal Buyer Protection Policy will not protect you:

i dont know the difference between dutch and english ebay.

But it says im only protected on select sites for items that dont match description (ie ebay, marktplaats).

Otherwise im only protect for items that are not received.

Ok so, for various reasons and on behalf of others on here that have ordered on behalf of mtes on here and are having to handle a pile of hassle over this I got REALLY mad with Ubishop today - quietly and politely mad but really obviously very very mad and told them that I think very little of a big corporate that fucks with individuals that they have already taken a pile of money from with this game release who cannot afford to have money taken from them on false pretences and held for 8 weeks this close to Christmas while ubi fuck around with not replying to email contact, fobbing people off on the phone, supplying a product that is not the one the customers are expecting becuase they sold their entire limited run to a 3rd party reseller - Titan Group - and never had it to sell in the first place and rather than bite the bullet and tell custoemrs before they send the standard one you can buy for half the price they send it out and hope we'll roll over and die - don't think so!!
They are the biggest schmuck of a comnpany I have ever dealt with - tried to tell me to send it back, get receipt for cost, then they would send vouchers to the cost of post - I told them politely that store vouchers are not legal currency and are not a valid refund and why the hell would I want store credit for a store that has failed me at every single turn from the moment I ordered?
I told them that the only acceptable outcome now was a full refund immediately for money they had been holding of mine for over 8 weeks now and which I desperately need for Christmas and return labels to send the books back at THEIR expense not mine.
Told he hadn't the authoirty I asked to speak to someone who could make that call, the phone was quiet for a while then they took all my details and said I would get a call 'from the top' tomorrow... we'll see..

This was the email repsonse:

We do really apologise for this situation.

I have managed to push the case to the highest possible level in order to make sure you will get refund and delivery costs back as soon as possible.

Unfortunately the person who is in charge of Uplay Shop is not available today anymore and I have received confirmation that he will be able to contact you tomorrow, with all information about the issue and the way it is going to be solved.

Please understand how bad we feel while we are unable to solve this case instantly, especially you have been waiting for that long time.
We are doing our best to solve this issue as soon as possible, in the way that you wish.


If you have any further queries or issues please do not hesitate to contact us again and we will assist you further.

I got put through to a guy called Ian after I wasn't happy with the service I was getting from the first call monkeys and then he told me he would arrange for me to get it sent to a UK based office instead and that went completely unanswered for weeks, before they eventually put a refund and return process through, still trying to fob me off with fucking vouchers after sending it to Germany! >.< Sick of their shit! Waiting on paypal now. If paypal don't do anything, trading standards will be my next port of call.

It is important to send the product recorded delivery to make sure it reaches us, we will also need a digital image of the receipt for postage so we can refund the cost of shipping

Make sure to include your order number so it can be identified when returned to the warehouse. It would speed up the refund process if it is shipped in it's original box with any barcodes uncovered and unmarked

Also please confirm when I can actually expect the refund of the original payments since you have already had this money for 8 weeks and I need it back in my account
How do I upload to you the proofs of postage?
One final question - what are you actually doing 'over and above' to say sorry for the fact that, having specifically checked that these were limited editions and having had that confirmed 100% by reply email you then shipped, 3 weeks late, standard editions and have been impossible to deal with ever since?

Ok result after the phone Call:

After putting me aside a few times to get "informations" Dirk told me that there is just one art book and he can pass my case to the person who is responsible for the Ubishop....wait didn't I call the Ubishop support line?....who will get in touch with me.

Again and again he told me that there is no other art book.

I told him that I want my money back and if they want the book back they should send me a prepaid shipping lable.

He wrote it down and "passed" it to the person responsible for the Ubishop....

Went something like this this time...

So... I have shipped the packages back.. in their original packaging and with ALL documents still enclosed. The postage was ?8.35 per item - 2 items - so a total of ?16.70 to be returned to me immediately. My paypal address is XXXXXXXX so a refund there would be quickest please.

So as it stands I ordered 2 limited art books, sent emails to check it was the limited product, had that confirmed, had the items shipped two weeks late and sent standard not limited, appalling communication since, had to ship back at my own expense so far and you still hold my money for the products, no one has said sorry about the original cock-up over the order and no one has yet said what you plan to do to make up for all this severe inconvenience so far...

You arrange the delivery online and then drop the parcel off at one of many convenience stores across the country. There's about 5 stores within a mile radius of my house which take parcels from you and it will be with the addressee within 3-5 days, fully tracked with upto 50GBP cover. So no need to wait in for a courier to collect the parcel from your house either. Just drop it off whenever. :D

I just hope that Ubisoft do the right thing and refund everyone, I was a couple of days too late to open disputes on the first three orders of the artbook (for my group buy), so if Paypal issues forced refunds for the seven I managed to get opened, I still won't have the ?75 for the first three. Mine was one of the ones after the first three, but I will just make mine one of the first three and not take a refund, and give out the refunds as soon as I can, but for the remaining two that I won't be refunded for, I'll need to sell the books quickly to make up the money to send the refunds that I won't get. And hopefully make up my own refund too, as I am really struggling money-wise right now :( xx

Hearing all sorts... they have my books back and tried to give me a code for the post costs - reminded them that was unacceptable... they explained that the post refund comes as a cheque that has to be issued by head office??? WTF??

The books are on their way back to the warehouse and they just couldn't bring themselves to open and check them in the UK. I have told them exactly what I think of them and threatened the trading standards on the basis they obtained money by deception and now have goods but are still holding my money but still they don't seem to be fussed...

Crappest company I have EVER dealt with...

On the flipside.. reserved a Join or Die at HMV, collected it, they forgot to put the medallion and notebook in so sent that by post recorded with a note to say sorry - and they're going bust

There is no justice in this world....

As you said, they're the shittiest company I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They also ignored my complaint last year too regarding the Encyclopaedia which came with the Animus Edition. I paid for the Animus Ed months in advance because I wanted the book and then not long after release, they started selling the book stand alone which I was really annoyed about! >.<

I think Trading Standards will be the way forward. It seems that they are not bothered by your threats and the only way is to take action against them. There's plenty of evidence against them on this forum alone and if it was to help the case, I still have all correspondence from them regarding refunds and returns on the books which caused me to take action via paypal.

I really hope that you finally get this shit sorted out with them. It sucks that you have to take such drastic action against such a large company as well... -_- You'd think that they would want to avoid shit like this for the measly amount of money it would take to keep you happy... -_- I'll never understand... >.<

UPS - Did a great job of damaging most of the Freedom Editions that were delivered to me! >.<

All Ubishop have achieved with this whole disaster is Gamestop UK getting more CE custom next year. lol

They closed my incidents on the Ubishop incident page after I sent them a complaint telling them they have 3 days to arrange for a collection from my house for the items before I open a dispute with paypal. 5 days later they closed that complaint too, so I phoned up and gave Tom a load of grief and informed him of my intentions then escalated with paypal.

I hope Ubishop have no exclusives next year. >.< Somebody will have to offer a group buy for us Brits as most of us will be blacklisted!! XD

I purchased ac3 join or die edition for pc and they sent me the German version. I gave up bothering to contact them in the end and made a loss selling it on eBay. Also, I have not been able to purchase anything of the site in months so I presume they blacklisted me for some reason but no idea what. hopefully they will be the next to go down the pan. Just a shame they got a couple of big names on their books. I would love to see them go under.

First I open a dispute Paypal. Today recived email saying that if I want, I can uptade to claim. Dispute is first action to resolve with seller. Claim is when seller and buyer can reach agreement.
I update in Paypal web, and one minute later, Paypal send me email with result.

Paypal says that can't do anything, so close claim. Reason? (I use translate to this, is copy&paste from Paypal email)

Our investigation into your claim is complete. according to our
Terms of Use, the claims process only applies to sending
articles. Does not apply to complaints about the characteristics or
quality of goods received. Therefore, we can not cancel this
transaction or issue a refund.

I have wasted more time on this than anyone ever should but I am principled and I hate the thought of a big organisation getting away with tretaing an individual badly because it is is hard to fight them... so... I kept fighting and, today I finally have refunds and my postage refunded and an email from the head of customer services(LOL!!!!!) UK

So, I have mailed back exactly what I think, I will email Yves Guillemot CEO and maybe, just maybe, someone will care that this has been the worst customer experience I have ever had...

We'll see - I like to think someone cares. My recommendation - if you can get any extra costs refunded take it and run from the pain that arguing it will cause you

what i was thinking aswell, seeing as the ups charge is almost the same as what it costed me to get the damn thing. Book with shipping costed me 264NOK and on top of that a ups charge op 221NOK. seeing as ups is another word for ultimate piece of shit, the cant even read a bloody order confirmation right and is ofc including the shipping costs when getting it customs treated. Including the shipping got it past the the 200NOK mark, making a 199NOK book cost 485NOK grand total

Congrats on the resolution Mag! :D You have alot more patience than me! In my defence though, I was very patient with them and in the end just got sick of being fed the same crap over and over again! A Paypal dispute was the last route I wanted to take, but I had a very patient group buyer who was still waiting on his money or item and my 45 day claim period was slowly coming to an end, so I was left with no choice.

Did Ubishop offer you any kind of compensation for this massive inconvenience? I guess that would be too much to ask though... :S

Didn't see this the other day!

Congrats on the resolution Mag! :D You have alot more patience than me! In my defence though, I was very patient with them and in the end just got sick of being fed the same crap over and over again! A Paypal dispute was the last route I wanted to take, but I had a very patient group buyer who was still waiting on his money or item and my 45 day claim period was slowly coming to an end, so I was left with no choice.

Did Ubishop offer you any kind of compensation for this massive inconvenience? I guess that would be too much to ask though... :S

I had an email direct from the uk support manager confirming the postal cheque was 'in the post' so replied saying exactly what I thought of it all - politely and in a reasoned fashion - and, guess what?!? No response

Must copy all my communication to Yves Guillemot and see if she cares how her employees are handling things... I'd have gone paypal route for sure but only paid for 1 that way and it was gone 45 days by the time it all went tits up but there was no way I was letting them get away with stealing my money....

Even the cheque in the post is insulting. Gotta wait for it to turn up in the post and then clear. >.< I can't believe how you have even put up with this shit if I'm honest. lol

And the latest is...

Had to chase up as no reply orignally but had a further response today from Jackie explaining that the whole communication delay was down to this mistake happening at the busy Christmas period...

I did reply suggesting hat such a weak excuse was unacceptable and that, if she read my online notes, she would see that it wasn't a slow response that was the problem it was the total absence of response...

Had another reply now apologising profusely, ackowledging it was unaccapetabel, explaining she could not give contact details for Yves due to corporate policy and enclosing a code for 20 gbp voucher...

Been a hell of a lot of work for 20 gbp - not a great hourly rate when a bit of time spent determining their best approach to this error once identifued along with a product recall and immediate refunds would have avoided it all...

As I shall be pointing out to MR Guillemot when I track down the best route of contact and copy him into all my communication....

Dog and bone spring to mind...

A refund from Ubi and a cheque for a refund of my postage costs as well as a voucher for 25 gbp for another purchase...

It was the real blood from a stone - seriously - it just became an all consuming mission with me - just did not want to let them win by ignoring it... Stupid hard work though :(
