The slipcover doesnt look like a piece of paper from the pic. I imagine it sth like the slipcover of the similar mass effect artbook (not the CE edition, the "middle" edition available from bioware).

Also, as you know, the fact that will be limited would increase the value, even in street date.

then thought it be more like a dust jacket
but have since re decided it looks like a card/wood case that the book slides into
bit the production cost is negligible

also from a profit and business point of view you would have to consider the original profit margin already costed into an item at wholesale level from the suppliers same point and the difference between wholesale and RRP and how UBisoft being the supplier can get away with slim profit margins as the product sits in the same place physical location whether it is listed as for sale in there online store or there supplier wholesale store so they don't have any excess overheads to worry about such as shipping/ storing/ displaying

It's not that, their site doesn't work at all. It defaults me to USA and shows a standard page. The only thing available to buy are the games and DLC. No physical items comes up.

Forbidden planet isn't making the slipcover :haha:... the slipcover is part of the Limited Edition guide. It's just that the pic on the Ubisoft store listing is wrong.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure it had been at In Progress.
It was a card I used, PayPal has been odd for me recently, it won't let me use a card, it keeps trying to get me to use a PayPal balance which I've no idea how it got there because it's about ?40 and I never added anything to it.

Yeah, the Fraud prevention flagged me up a while ago as I ordered to get it sent direct to AUS for a member here. But despite there being the option of that on site, if you're in the UK and try to send to somewhere not in the UK, it flags you for fraud.

It took around 2 days for them to fix my account :( Had to keep phoning them, as once the fraud thing flags you, it keeps you flagged until one of the staff fixes your account >.< xx

I have to admit, I'm pretty conflicted about Ubisoft normally their games are good but I hate the way they do the AC stuff where there's loads of different editions, then preorder bonuses and I'm still a little irritated by the Animus edition of Revelations where you pay the extra to get what you think is the best edition and then they go and release the white version of the encyclopaedia with not only stuff that the black one doesn't get, but also with ludicrous shipping charges.

just registered here to let you know that I also ordered the 500 pcs limited Art Book with two signed Art Prints and received the normal edition Art Book today.

I had ordered the Limited Edition from an ebayer (before vhal made the group buy I think) and she was having the same problems (hadn't received anything).

After seeing that the true Limited Edition was available and in stock from forbidden planet for a double price with a different (and much more accurate) description I decided to cancel my order and receive a refund (great ebayer she was, very friendly, answered immediately every email all this time).

Anyhow, I hope in some way you get yours guys and gals in the end with the reduced price!!!

Thanks mate. That's what I was thinking the whole time ^^ I also ordered the "supposed to be limited" artbook and got probably a wrong one. Well I haven't opened mine yet so I I'll don't know it for sure. But it has the standard ISBN # 1781164258
Does this limited artbook even exsit? I have never seen any proof :scratch: But just because of 5 euro such a mob...seems a little bit too much for me.

Tom is helpful, he was the one that finally got me a refund after 4 weeks for the freedom edition. BUT thats only after my case was with 'the next level of support' for 2 weeks

Yeah, I have no hope what so ever with "next level support". I have had a query pending with a guy Ian and all I need is a fucking address for a UK office to send a Freedom Ed back to. Told them that it's disgusting that they expect me to foot the bill for a damaged item to be sent back to Germany. Would cost half the price of the game to send the damn thing back! >.< I queried that case with Tom too, so that's 2 cases currently open with them. Has been with Ian now for about 2-3 weeks... -_-

If I haven't heard today, I will call again tomorrow and tell them to sort this shit out or I'll open a claim to get my money back with paypal.

Hey told me that the system made an error and didn't denied after all 500 books were pre-ordered.

Only option that I have is to send it back and ask for a refund now ord if I will get the shipping fees back.

I know most of you are in the middle of talking to Ubisoft regarding this issue, I just want to say that if you want the book and have the money, just get it from somewhere else just in case.

Because it is a fantastic edition indeed. The slipcase thickness alone is 0.4cm! I only wish it was numbered as well.

The singed lithos are in a different folder inside the slipcase, while the book have an outer sleeve as well with different artwork. Pics soon!

I got it from Titan Exclusives as I said. Packaging was maybe the best I've seen for this kind of thing, cause the book comes in its own cardboard packaging, designed to protect it from damage (especially the corners). Then there was a lot of bubblewrap around that, and on top it was sent in a big bubblewrap envelope.

In response to those questions
I contacted the amazing Tom on customer service helpline number ending in 4143
But also had sent 3 emails and had received no reply for 10 days

I think I may have got that response because of what I suggested in my messages which I shall quote below
And also after not receiving a reply after ten days I called customer service and told tom that and he said he could see the messages and appologized that they had not been answered

Also I do not know about there returns or refund policy and I have asked for more information as to the refund and returns policies and told them that store credit is not a globally accepted form of currency or legal tender(essentially its not legal, that's a complicated point to argue but I am aware of the law surrounding that issue and I am prepared to go all the way to small claims court to get my money back)
I feel i t will be another week before I get a response about the returns / refunds procedure

Some customers have been constantly lied to and every time they contact yourselves for answers are told that shipping started on the day they contacted, this item was due for release 21 days ago.
Is it possible to be told the true reasons behind the delayed orders
I assume it is because there was a mistake in the warehouse and all 500 books where despatched to forbidden planet.com and there fore ubishop is unable to fulfill these orders as they have sent (effectively sold) stock that was already sold or reserved for and by customers
I personally have paid in full for one item by PayPal which is an upfront payment and the other was by bank card so that payment has not been taken yet
Now if it is the case that you do not have the stock due to it being sold or delivered to a different supplier / retailer then a simple refund will not be enough for any customer that ordered this item from you
They all ordered from you as they where meant to be limited to 500 so simply printing more will not do, the customer like myself that ordered from you will expect to receive there order and something more in the form of an apology due to the heavy delays we have been experiencing

Angry email sent, but I'm not holding my breath, they were as useless as a a chocolate fireguard sorting out the cancellation of an additional freedom edition. Then when they admitted they couldnt cancel it they took another week to tell me the address couldnt be changed either.

I'd love to shell out for the full price set but I cant afford it now :( Xmas pressies to buy and I work for Comet, or at least till next week I do :(

Nope. Have hax an email saying that they have closed my case on the Ubishop site and I haven heard anything from them through the PayPal dispute, so will be escalating my claim tomorrow if I don't hear anything!

Thankfully my group buyer for the freedom edition is being very patient with me regarding this issue, so I really appreciate that if he's reading this! ^^

To be honest it's a 2kg package so shipping is pretty high on it and, from the UK, there's a basic ?5.45 surcharge for tracking (if they did!!) on top of normal post cost - we get relaly hit here for tracked post cost :(

Hope it gets to you soon - they're not answering anyone on anything.... :nono:

I have just escalated my paypal dispute to a claim after having not heard from them since opening the dispute and then my incident has been closed on the Ubishop site and nobody has bothered to even contact me since I last pestered them on Monday.

I made it perfectly clear that I would be making a claim with paypal if they don't do something about it. They tried to call my bluff and now they are in for a shock.

Never will I order from the Ubishop again!! I think as we are such a tight community, we should boycott the Ubishop. They have just completely fucked over their customer's and clearly aren't prepared to do anything about it. If anybody from Ubisoft or the Ubishop CS, Coupons to use on your online store is NOT a fair exchange for return postage costs.

Lowly is right, there are horrible unfortunately. I could go on and on about how bad they were. First you cannot get help. I emailed them with a simple question on 11/20. Last night, 12/6 at 9pm I received a reply. Three weeks to answer something easy!

To top it off I had a preorder for something but soon after I placed my order they released a coupon/discount code. I emailed them and waited a while for a reply asking if they'll apply the discount since my order never shipped. By the time they replied the order shipped and their answer was that cannot apply discounts to shipped/completed orders.

Pretty much the same problem everybody is having with Ubishop. The only way you will get your money back without losing out on shipping fees is by opening a dispute with paypal. That's what me and a couple of other members here have done.

They're assholes and the fact that they clearly fucked up and then expect the customer to pay for the mistake, is utter crap! >.<

Books are not necessarily bound on a single printing press anymore. I suspect if you look at the packaging, Titan has outsourced the printing/binding to a press in the Chicago area (and probably 1-2 others in different geographies). Just a guess though...

I just got my package! Haven't opened it yet! God I hope it's not the wrong edition, or the wrong books entirely.

Edit: Just opened the package,and they're the right books! They arrived in perfect condition too! Holy cow did the package get here fast too. I literally ordered the book like 3 or four days ago. They definitely must have a warehouse here very close to Chicago. The tracking number info indicates that the package originated from a nearby suburb. Shipping was dirt cheap too, which surprised me when I placed the order since I assumed the books were coming from th UK. I think I only paid like $10 for 2 books.

Might have to order more of these to trade or sell later. Not sure... Decisions, decisions.

I ordered from Titan Exclusives. It was packed well enough, and the books arrived in perfect shape. The hardbound slipcase is quite nice. I don't plan on opening it (it's factory sealed), but I can tell this is a quality book. I'm impressed and glad I got one. :)

My book arrived today as well, alongside the two Halo LE books. Mortal Monday, my books game from a third party affiliate from Chicago, probably like yours. But shipping was 14GBP ($22 USD) for me, wouldn't it be the same for you since we're both in the US?

Packaging as far as shopping was great though I'm concerned about one of my Halo books. With the Art of Halo 4 LE and the AC3 LE book, you can see the folder with the art prints next to the book in the slipbox. The other Halo book, Building Worlds, does not have a folder next to the book in the box. I don't plan to open these so I'm trying to verify if I'm missing the prints or not.

That makes me wonder though. The other two books have a small folder next to the book inside the slipbox, so that made me question whether the Building Worlds had the prints at all since there is no folder in the box.

Do you have a link regarding the issue you described?


Overall so far I really like this series of LE books and may collect these down the road.

I don't have a link to verify, but I posted the info on here around a year ago (when that book was released) as it was me who discovered it - after ordering a copy, receiving it, opening it and discovering no numbered bit and no artwork, so I complained, got a second copy, and it was the same (and then ForbiddenPlanet confirmed it was a manufacturing error, and let me keep my dodgy copy for a partial refund), then I got a proper one with the help of a member here :) xx

I gotcha. So you got the book with alternate slipcover and slipbox but no prints and no serial number. Now I question are there more than 1,000 made or if a bunch had an error, are there less "proper" editions on the market?

Speaking of ordering it last year, I had no idea the Building Worlds book was so old. My number I received today is in the 400s. Perhaps these aren't that rare even you can still buy them years later.

I complained to FP and they arranged a courier to collect the dodgy one, and bring me a replacement. Once the replacement arrived, someone else on here had posted pics to show the book (showing the numbered bit from the outside). Mine was still sealed at this point, but didn't have that, so I opened it anyway, just incase some had it inside, and again, no prints/numbered bit.

I contacted FP again, who said they'd get back to me in a day or two, and when they did, they informed me that they were recalling that particular batch/delivery (not many from this batch had been sold onto people I think) as it was a manufacturing error.

I asked if I'd be able to get a partial refund, but keep mine as it was meant as a gift for someone and they refunded me ?25 (meaning it only cost me ?15).

Then nipperkipper ordered one for me from Titan and he sent it to me and I paid him (didn't have the money up front this time). So was very grateful there :)

I'm curious why the change with the Halo BW book. The Halo 4 and AC3 book are not numbered outside and the prints are viewable from the spine.

Other things I noticed were the Halo BW and AC3 book came in a custom fitted box inside the shipping box but Halo 4 did not. And the Halo BW books custom box was numbered as well as the book itself.


Would you mind taking photos of your Halo BW book and how the prints are stored?

Did you get your AC LE book yet? Of the three today:

AC LE came in a custom fitted box, no number on the back or the box.
Halo 4 came loose in the shipping box, no number on the back.
Halo BW came in a custom fitted box with serial number on it and on the back of the book.

Yeh vhal is correct, they send them in randomly, i ordered right at the start and my number was in the 400's, ordered 2-3 weeks later for vhal and she got in the 200's

How do you know? It still allows me to add to cart. And their site doesn't limit you, I played with it last week, it allowed to add 501 to my cart and go all the way to checkout.
