Default Bioshock Infinite (Cook & Becker)

In case you haven't spent your entire fortune on either books or midnight posters, C&B also has some nice offerings coming up for Bioshock Infinite.

Info
  • Carefully created and extensively proofed in conjunction with Irrational Games
  • Exclusive limited-editions:
  • Large size artworks are editions of only 5
  • Normal sized artworks are editions of 50
  • All prints hand-numbered
  • All prints are signed on the back by Ken Levine via label (+ his signature on the front for unframed prints)
  • All prints provided with a dated Certificate of Authenticity signed by Ken Levine
  • All prints are Museum-grade Certified Art Giclees?. They come with a lifelong guarantee to the original buyer.
  • Prints can be ordered unframed or mounted on Dibond with either a Liquid Gloss or a Diasec? + Acrylic Glass finish. These finishes are chosen in conjunction with the studio.
Cook & Becker
Available from 05-13-2013, can be ordered now.

Notice that the digital images are brighter, while the images of the prints are darker. The reason for this is that the individual digital image is the color corrected print setup (which is overly bright as to compensate for the darkening in printing).

The files used for the prints, aside from "Falling", have been made from in-game imagery; high resolution renders more specifically.

I personally think the selection is quite decent, although I don't understand the appeal of a piece like "Motorized Patriot".
It would've been nice to see some actual concept art that reflected the finalized look of Bioshock Infinite, but apparently it doesn't exist; a quick look through the artbook more or less confirms this (correct me if I'm wrong). I know Craig Mullins did a piece for Bioshock 2 that was great ("1959"), and I think something truly extraordinary could be accomplished if the right artist did a piece featuring "Songbird".

This would also have made a great addition.

Wouls you like to have seen additional/different art? If so examples, please.

And if you don't like the art, there's always another lighthouse... (or you know something along those lines).

They look wonderful! Thank you for sharing. Are these screenshots from the game?

Glorified screenshots.

It seems some people have very big walls since some of the large edition prints have sold quite a few; considering they're an edition of five.

It's a proper giclee, but the price is high.

Yes the price is high, but these are basically fine art prints. C&B is a genuine art gallery, I don't think these are meant for the casual fan.

The popularity of Infinite may be a big boost towards legitimizing games and game development as genuine art, and I for one applaud the project. I'm also buying as many of these as will fit on my wall

How is that expensive? If you want something from a significant artist you'll pay a lot more. The last giclee I bought was 1 of 15 and cost $1k and it's amaaaaaazing.

Edit: Also, didn't mean for that to sound condescending at all, so apologies if it seemed that way.

My reasoning is that's just bought 17 numbered Tomb Raider prints at $40 each, some of which are even more limited at 40 total made.
