Year 2017 - best and worst Limited and/or Collector's Edition's

Best or worst, I cannot say, but some worthwhile mentions:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 NA CE (Nintendo Switch) - It comes with a full size, hard back artbook which you don't see in many CEs of late, a proper appropriately sized steelbook case and a soundtrack CD in a digipak. This ticks all the boxes for me. Perhaps could have been made better by haveing a full OST instead of a Sound selection, but I thought it was a brilliant CE for the $100 pricetag. The PAL version was nice too, but the hardback artbook definitely swung it for me towards the NA version. You did however get a standard game case with the PAL version, which for some is also considered a bonus. Some people also say that the PAL edition box was the "premium" box, but I thought it felt flimsy for how it looks. Guess it's all matter of individual taste and opinion. Was still very reasonably priced at £79.99.




Zelda BOTW Masters Edition (Nintendo Switch) - An example of a big, fancy CE to start off a new platform with the console's flagship title. Contents were high quality items. Comes with a nice carry case to protect your new console, based on an item straight from the game world (who can complain about practicale items?), a sound selection CD, coin (I love coins ), World Map, a copy of the game and a figure to display. What better than a battle scarred Master Sword in the pedestal. Plus I don't think this was overly expensive either.




More to come when I think of them. Those are the first 2 which come to mind immediately for me.

Worst 2017? Probably the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite CE:

Worst? I'd vote Prey, simply because they didn't release the CE stateside.

Best? I'd vote Zelda, as it's the only memorable one I can think of from this year. Nothing else really caught my eye and I honestly can't remember any other game that came out this calendar year.

I'll say Persona 5 for best, though I only got a few "big box" CE's this year.

The game was released in Japan in September 2016, and worldwide in April 2017.

I like the Zelda CE but I wouldn’t say it’s great. For the price, we are getting a small plastic sword that is very soft and bends easily...

I would say my worse has been resident evil 7 in uk as they stopped all orders from original release as too many were broken. Then amazon had it 3-4 months back and each that came were broken also so given up on it... this is just from experience to why I feel it worse.
One of the best is hard between horizon zero dawn, tekken 7 and shadow of war would be my choices

Best collector’s edition this year (and all years prior tbh) for me is this monstrosity - Assassin’s Creed: Origins Dawn of The Creed Legendary Edition.

Worst are probably Syberia 3 with this always broken figure and YS Origins from Limited Run Games with it’s poor materials quality.
