Resident Evil Collection
Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the site and have a question when it comes to collecting as well as true pricing. I have an extensive Resident Evil collection ranging from games, movies, statues, figures, promos, T-Shirts, CDs, Vinyl Records, comics, books, Hot Toys, standees, a slot machine and a bunch of things. Recently, I ran into a financial situation and was about to sell off my games as one giant lot (as they range from US, UK, Japan, Korea, China and other areas), believe me it was killing me and quite a few people convinced me not to sell any of it off because it's my favorite series. It was over 100 games in total from PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Gamecube, Gameboy Color, PC, Wii and Wii U. When trying to research a price I noticed (first, no one has this kind of lot) all the prices were all over the place. The most I had found was for the Code Veronica sealed, Biohazard gun survivor sealed, White Label Resident Evil PC new and of course the collector's editions. Is there a place that would determine actually video game values rather than guessing? Also when is it that the collecting has become too much? I really enjoy my collection but I know there maybe another time where something would have to be sold in order to make it by in life. What is your opinion? |

Re: Resident Evil Collection
Hi,
Collect only one Licence is risk because very difficult to sell it after. Sometimes we need to sold stuff for 2 reasons : 1 - We have others priorities (house, family, children,..) 2 - We just want to stop because it's too many Maybe one day you will regret but if it's for the reason 1, you will not regret because family is most important. If you want to sell, it'll be difficult to sell in One lot. Seems you need to splitit because you never find someone to buy all. To begin, you have to split your collection by Systems and by type. Ex : PS1 : Official Games (sealed and unsealed + promo) PS1 : Debug disc PS1 : Press kit PS2 : Official games PS2 : .... ....... Movies : Statues : and you have to do it for all system and types. After that you can sell on differents forums (here for games and press kit , on Obscuregamer for Debug Disc, and for movies , i don't know ) After 3 weeks if you sell nothing, put them on ebay. (you can look on ebay for price (only sold items - 20% for Forums) |

Re: Resident Evil Collection
Thanks for the welcome and advice Ryaku and Spect3r. I was thinking that to with selling a lot that size because when I added up the various prices people were asking on Ebay, it came to $4,000 and change. I am very careful when I pick out things for the collection, although I do have some Bootleg items like Resident Evil 1.5 for PS1, Crisis Evil Dreamcast, Resident Evil Gameboy and a Sheva Almor hot toys figure. Other than that everything is license through Capcom or a partnership with Capcom. It's kind of scary to sell off collection though because you may sell it for a good price but when you want to put it back in your collection, it could cost you. I did it before when I sold both Chris and Sheva Playarts (which is a company that I guess was created by Squarenix), sold them for $80 I believe in box, now they are up there in price. Even had 3 different Wii Blasters which one was an oops print where it showed Darkside Chronicles as the game inside but it had Umbrella Chronicles artwork on the entire box. Stupid me sold it for $130 for all 3 new blasters but can't get them cheap like before. That's probably my biggest fear with selling anything off, even when someone tells me to sell doubles or items that I don't really like, I just get worried that I would never be able to get them again. Do you guys run into this problem too?

It's always a though decision. I would start by selling the duplicated items, then the ones i dislike the most.

Re: Resident Evil Collection
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were forced to sell.
Right now i am selling my rare G1 sized steelbooks. I stopped colleting G1 sized a while back ago, these rare ones were just the ones i was holding off as a sentimental value due nor only to their rarity but also because of being franchises i really like (Dishoned and Assassins Creed) and the reason i decided to sell them now is because I'm going on a vacations trip to Mozambique in October and between tickets, visa, etc is a lot of money, so its nice to make some extra money to help me pay for it. Others sell to pay for other stuff, some others just because they reached a point where they are done with collecting, some times people sell stuff just so they can free up space to buy more stuff lol Regarding prices, if there is a big difference in values for the same product, normally the real price is in between the highest and the lowest asking price.
